"The difference [this time] is that we’ve planned for it… it’s not an afterthought," Snyder explained. "We’re still tweaking, but they’ll probably be 45 minutes to an hour longer, each one. Not true. Snyder and Netflix agreed that if he would create a 2hr PG-13 cut, they allow him to later release his 3hr unrated cuts. Here he talks about it directly in his Joe Rogan interview.
