Oh hell. I know when I posted on message boards from 99-2003 (all gone now) I was an obnoxious fukk. I said a lot of things that would be make 2020 me wince or just confuse me to no end. I guess that's what happens when you grow older and hopefully wiser. I've looked back on some of my early posts on TheColi and even they make me go@HipHopStan I had an old account at IGN and AllHipHop Ill Community. This was from 2001. I looked at my old posts like“I was really an annoying ass teenager. Jeez, was I that insufferable?”
Crazy how time seemed so much simpler going through the archives. Back when there was Chappelle Show, PS2/XBOX, Kobe, Iverson... even Post 9/11 that era seemed a lot more fun and simple.
Going through those old forums feels like visiting your old high school but it’s now abandoned.
so imagine what it'll be like a decade from now if I look back on these posts.I think the earliest known message board that I frequented and that is still around is from 2004 and it's dead. It had a similar situation that TheColi had with SOHH where someone took over that wasn't well liked so a bunch of posters went and made their own board. I migrated over there, but eventually stopped posting due to the clique nature. That one is still kicking, but not as active as it once was.
I agree that the early 00's were simpler much more fun times. We knew that there was a lot of fukked up shyt but it didn't pertain to us yet but one day it would.
