Screen is no dirtier than any other surface in that bytch and COVID don’t even spread through touching surfaces :russ:

A lot of the McDonald’s I’ve seen the people are using the touch screens :francis: cashiers will soon be a thing of the past

Yea but the old people that go in don't even know how to use it. Old people and technology are a lost cause

You're still overlooking the most important aspect in all of this in that the technology just isn't there yet for full on or even partial automation to take place. Having the money to make it happen means nothing if the technology to do so just isn't there right now to do it.

If the technology was there, then restaurants and other industries wouldn't be out here begging workers to come back now would they?

People are acting as if we're 5 or even years away from automation taking place when that's just not the case. Even then, those jobs are going to create new jobs in its place that don't necessarily require special skills to do it.

I already addressed both of those points.

I stand corrected on the passing the fees to the consumer. But that doesn't negate the rest of the point.

Sure but none of this stuff is good for restaurants. Good small businesses will be fine if they just raise their salaries tho. shytty ones will rightfully go into the tank

This is standard for retail and warehouse jobs.

Amazon called it the blackout period during peak. You couldn't request time off from November 20 till December 24. Home depot was the same during the holiday season.

That’s the problem, American work culture and standards aren’t working anymore.

Look at the Costco example. Yes self checkout is becoming the norm, but the demand for online grocery pick up has increased as well. You need workers to fill those orders so it's creating jobs in it's place.

The majority of businesses and food industries out here just don't have the foot traffic like that to justify the cost of going the automation route. Look at an example of somewhere like Subway where you only need 2-3 to run an entire store and even then they just don't get the foot traffic like that to replace those workers via automation.
Self checkout is a lick..

Pay for like 3 items then don't scan the expensive shyt..

They track that btw. I know a few people who they let do it for a while until they stole enough stuff to amount to a felony and then one day they looked up from check out and the police were there.

One lady was stealing meat :russ:

Right. American standards are horrible for employees so it needs to change
