Black people are not a monolith; isn’t that what the basis of the argument is? Let that brother express himself :mjpls:

I can find a tweet from a black gay person saying all straight black men should die. Would it be fair for me to call their entire group violent misandrists?
You're tangling yourself up in knots.

For every one of those tweets, I bet you can I find 10000000000000x more similar comments about what Black folks say about gay people, and I wouldn't even need to leave this board to find them. Or do you seem to think that gay Black people are going around treating straight Black people in equal measure?

Are we supposed to just believe that 'half the people in Black church are gay' just because some random ass nxgga on a msgboard said so, not realizing that this motion of overcompensating only shows that he's subconsciously revealing that he believes there is in fact an issue with homophobia in the Black community? If he truly believed there wasn't, why would he need to go to an unnecessary extreme in the first instance?
I see a few posters saying that Black people are homophobic, and I disagree. Gays are living quite safely in Black neighborhoods, because it’s now the norm to be gay in this world of today. We’re not homophobic, we’re UPSET that gays, no matter the color, have more rights than us, and that we’re pushed even further UNDER the totem pole of life, laws and society.

So homophobic? Nah, We aren’t scared of gays at all, that’s what phobia is. As a whole we’re scared of white people, but that’s another topic that no one want a to admit.
I suggest you google the definition(s) of homophobia and go back to the drawing board on this.

Any person who says anything negative about the lbtgq is 'cancelled' by the media. Nothing but negative stories and career sabatoge.

Also conflating the lbtqq struggle with the black struggle and how it is the new civil rights movement.
Stop it bruv, a cac saying this about a group of black people would elicit similar reactions.

Maybe just maybe don't be bigot.

While I understand the point you're trying to make, historically [gay] protests and campaigns have largely taken aim at white Republican demographics, and not Black people. I mean, the whole ideology around the very nature of LGBTQ has been fighting against law and societal norms, which needlessly to say is controlled by white folks.

It's disingenuous to make out like Black folks are the only ones being called out in all this. It stands to reason we're going to have this perception because we surround ourselves with events/issues that are at the center, but we don't see everything as a whole. I mean, how many posters on this board are actually paying attention to the exact amount of times MAGA types are being publicly ridiculed for their homophobia? What about a Russian ice hockey player who proudly professes his homophobia and is the target of the generalization of Russians being the same?
This may be true but there is also a concerted effort to paint black people, specifically black men, as hostile to gay people. There's a lot of homophobia in the black community but my issue is that there's a lot of that in most communities in this country. Nobody ever talks about the violent homophobia in Hispanic cultures, or Arab communities. There's a clear agenda at play. Similar to the "stop Asian hate" campaign's focus on black people, despite white people committing the vast majority of anti-Asian acts of violence.

You obviously don’t frequent twitter unless you wouldn’t be choosing that argument. There’s nothing but gay people talking about how terrible straight black men (and sometimes women) are everyday.

I’m not tangling myself up in anything. Your argument is “look at how gays are talked about on here!” When I’m giving you examples of everyday life in black communities where gay people are not ostracized, disrespected or attacked. There was nothing extreme offered or suggested.

What you’re looking for is some big hug fest amongst black folks and gay people, when that doesn’t happen in any community, period. Somehow, tolerance and respect isn’t enough for black folks :mjpls:

Mass black homophobia is an overblown concept promoted by people who don’t even live in black communities. You have people in here talking about “side-eyes” and whispers from black folks, when there are full blown anti-gay churches run by white people. What are we doing here?

What is it y'all hope to achieve by fighting with more ignorance over this issue?

Have you been in a black church? Half the people in there are gay. What are you talking about?

Let’s not even talk about black hairdressers, makeup artists, black female basketball players, and other professions. Black people being homophobic is a myth used by white people to perpetuate racism and discrimination THEY practice.
Black people homophobic is one of the main themes TLR pushes

Your homophobia has reached a level where you've created a world where gay people are in fact the real perpetrators with this widespread misandry, and straight Black men are now the victims. I don't know what's more hilarious, you somehow twisting into that, or the fact that you're frequently going around Twitter following and keeping tabs on gay ass nxggas and what they have to say, to the point where you are an expert in the field of LGBTQ discourse on social media.

Unfortunately for you, I know that you're bullshytting, but it's hilarious how you'd sacrifice yourself for appearing to be on the downlow just to win an argument on an anonymous msgboard.

I ask you: what percentage of the Black population consists of "black female basketball players" who are gay? Do you not see the ridiculousness in trying to prove the contrary by using such a minute proportionate sub-group to talk about how the majority feels? How many Black people even know a gay Black female basketball player? How does it make sense in your rockhead that you think countering that belief with saying shyt like half the people in Black church are gay?

What you've done here is the equivalent of crackas saying they're not racist because they have a Black friend.

For the record: I don't think it's as simple as Black folks are homophobic (or not), nor do I think it's particularly a discussion to be had with [white] eyes and ears a stone's throw away, but you're lying to yourself (which wouldn't be the first time) if you believe homophobia isn't an ugly undercurrent in the Black community. The fact that this is a Black msgboard and yet this type of behavior is rampant on here should tell you all you need to know. The fact that the majority of this board can't simply acknowledge Ant was in the wrong and move along should tell you all you need to know.
Homophobia is not an ugly undercurrent of the black community

Where are black gay people discriminated against and not allowed at in the black community?

Nothing about this forum reflects real life. These losers hate gay people because it gets daps from other losers

Honestly, its easy not to say anything ignorant in the first place....
Was telling someone this today. I’ve managed to avoid being ignorant on tape my entire life. How and why are people still fukking something this simple up?

With that said I don’t think Edwards is a hateful person. He thought he was being funny
