Reddit Finally Bans Racist Subreddits (Edit: Only a few of them.)

I still don't think reddit is a racist website.
But it does have racist subreddits.

Think of it this way: The Coli is a cool website. But some forums within it probably are not your cup of tea.
You may dabble in The Coliseum or The Ring or The Gym...but maybe you think The Salon is petty bullshyt.

Reddit is similar in that way.

He's right though. Reddit is big as fukk and to call it a racist site because of some shytty subreddits is like calling Google racist because it has links to SF.

Reddit is recruitment. st0rmfr0nt revealed a while back that places like Reddit and ***** are literally their hunting grounds. They seek out impressionable white men, present "statistics" and funny maymays about how brown people are criminals, and wind up with a whole new group of white supremacists. Handing out fliers about the white race is too obvious, they hide behind "free speech" and "stating facts" in order to spread hatred.

That's why they infect Reddit and refuse to leave for voat or 8chan. There would be no opportunity to spread their message.

Don't compare Coli to Reddit, it's disingenuous. My issue with Reddit is that it is accommodating.

Okay, but my point is that I could list several subreddits that are entertaining, educational, funny, serious....and don't circle around propagating racist stereotypes.

A quick google search shows that there are roughly 6,000 active subreddits.
That's A LOT of different forums.
To compare, The Coli has what looks like 25.

I mean even if you said there were 15 outright racist subreddits...out of 6,000+? It's not even 1/2 of 1%

Look, I'm not trying to cape necessarily for reddit. If people here don't want to go on that website, who gives a shyt?
But there ARE subreddits of value there.

We had a "white on white crime" thread in The Root that got a lot of backlash. That's really the "worst" that we've done. And it was a tongue in cheek thread that didn't really have malicious intent.

I don't know.
I suspect that a lot of these subreddits are independently monitored by moderators who volunteer their time for the site.
And banning certain subreddits (or removing them from the Front Page) takes place when there's a certain level of uproar.
