Smash Something

Crazy underrated beat and single

This is actually underrated

It’s crazy how Malpractice doesn’t sound half as bad now in 2026

Not saying the album didn’t have some bland moments but if anything, it was just a very average Redman album in comparison to his previous albums

But he was spitting on Smash Sumthin’ and the beat was nice

Plus like you said, it is a song no one mentions

Red has so many underrated joints.

This is the first one that came to mind, just now.

Back when he was making those dope ass funky beats!

Whole album is a classic. I listened to this album so many times. Such a dense dope album. Funny enough redman later said he hates this album since he was in a dark place on a whole bunch of drugs. Makes so much sense cause when I listen to it, I have no idea how a sober person puts those lyrics and beats together

Yup

All that acid and dust had bruh on another planet

I think if Red wouldn’t have been in a dark place at the time of that recording and things would’ve been different, if he celebrated that album, it would be an album more would’ve come around to than they initially did when he dropped it

I remember Erick Sermon saying the label made sure he handled the production more and was more hands on with Muddy Waters because they thought Red went too far out their with Dare and they wanted to make sure Red didn’t make the same moves with Muddy Waters

My favorite Redman album.

Even as a kid, I could hear he was buggin' and definitely high while doing most of the songs, lol. But that rawness and the whole dark vibe of the album was so perfect for me. He really showed up as a producer too, so that was dope to see, back then.

I always say that I get why he might personally hate the album. But as fans, he blessed us nicely with a classic!

Absolutely my favorite redman album - not even a question

It's funny the sacrifice of the artist for the art sake.
I doubt he could have made that album sober.

Truth.

I don’t think he could've "traveled the Milky Way's and the stars of the Gods then returned 6,000,000,000 feet beneath to get cigars", if he wasn't high on that sh*t. HAHA!
