Pretty much. Gruden and his staff are in a must show improvement/win now type situation. He will be out of a job if he doesn't show improved results. Griffin needs time to learn the game from the pocket. The best thing for him would be to go back up an elite passer in the league like Brees down in New Orleans or Rodgers in Green Bay. Someone who he is no threat to overtake but can serviceably fill in as a backup in spot duty from time to time while he gets to observe how a great does it up close. He will become a beast within a few seasons in that situation. If he has to go start in Oakland or New York next season then he will be out of the league in a year. I said it before and I'll say it again: I would just take the money I made so far and retire. Being an NFL QB/face isn't worth not being able to tie your shoes at age 55.
