Profiting off there culture? If a team wanted to call themselves the "NY Black Panthers" or "The Chicago Civilrighters" why would I have a problem with that?Is the proper term for them Indians ? The article said American Indians , I say native Americans but Indian is a person from India . You make black people look bad if you don't know why they'd have a problem with a group of rich white people making money off of the Native American culture idk what to tell you . So the fukk what, be proud of that beautiful Red Skin, don't be ashamed of who you are. You ever hear the term Black is Beautiful? So is Red, and they should embrace that. Living on a secluded reservation not having any clue on the outside world makes the person in your link not even qualified to say its a racial term unless its something that is used today? Which it isnt. And never really was. Show me where it was used, because somehow only some random 15yr old decendants remember. Who is teaching them that any celebration of Native American Culture is a negative? Same way black ppl are taught that black is ugly, bad/etc. The injuns suffer from that complex even worse. I'm all for not celebrating Thanksgiving and other things, but Redskins? I associate that name with a Powerful Indian Chief who whoops the ass of the white racist cowboy aka White America. Its not that serious, but there is that element to it all that is very real. That is that serious. If Native Americans wanted to be represented more, we'd love it.
