the problem with that, aside from the fact that its not possible is that it would then corrupt the dap system. you would have people dapping shyt that shouldnt get dapped just to boost rep

Good point. Maybe capping Rep privileges for non-supporters, new "members" and people with less than say 500 posts could work? Or a simple three-strike (or less) system for people that abuse it

Throw the rep system in the bushes. Everyone's first impulse is to dap you, rather than pos rep. I'd rather you guys spend your time and energy on things.

But if you do decide to bring it back, supporters like myself should be immune to neg reps and should have a rep status of "This poster is paying bills around here".

What if it were only mods and legitimately valuable posters that received the ability to give out rep. Then slowly more posters were able to do it. Whatever system is decided on should be one that prevents people from trying to re-initiate rep gangs.

I think Bk and Brooklynzson would obviously choose the first group of people who were able to give out rep. But seems like the best solution is to just leave it disabled.

Seriously I miss reps!!! The last rep comment I got was so nice. Someone said my comments to them helps keep their confidence high
