Well the thing is Suge and puffy were all cool so they know each other. Everyone has someone that will "take it" there if need be. Jake wasn't no slouch hence why Suge felt good and protected being with him. Everyone knows wolf has temper and the other dude that hung with Wolf that was Puffy protector that died in the shootout with Wolf. Speaking if Wolf, Wolf hosted Bad Boy parties in Atlanta pre Big Meech blowing up days . Bad Boys was couple hustlers behind Puff throwing parties in NY but also took it to Atlanta. So everyone knew each other quite well .
Also the mistakes these guys made and yes they were young is that Suge muscle his way in the industry only take you so far cause slowly folks in the industry will blackball you.
