Religion in Public Schools?

Yea that sounds like some of my conversations I have had with some of my good friends that are religious. We love to put people in categories and label them but the label of being atheist is still very taboo in a lot of parts in the world especially America. Now I know some people would label themselves atheist, but I think it's weird to identify yourself with a non belief. For example Buddhist don't believe in a personal god so by definition they would be atheist, but they identify themselves by what they do believe which is the 8th fold path and 4 noble truths. So when talking with people, try to find a word or identify yourself with what you do believe instead of what you don't like Buddhist. So for me by definition I would be a agnostic atheist, meaning do I know if there is a god? no. Do I believe in one? well that depends on how you define god. If you define god as a personal deity that communicates with certain people inspires them to write books and intervenes with humans? then no. If you define gods as the laws of nature then yea I can probably get behind something like that. Now about your class, I think you argument is spot on and the examples of the JFK speech is a good one because it shows that people that identify as Christians particularly protestant don't trust other denominations especially Catholics. But if the tables were flipped and this nation had the majority of people being catholic and JFK was baptist he would have had the same problems. So you can argue to your classmates about how a theocracy would work kinda like Saudi Arabia and how that system isn't compatible with being free in america because so many people would lose freedom under the rule of most religions. Also about the person bringing up Jesus in his speech just tell them if he wants to do that then they can't get mad if somebody brings up SATAN and how they should accept the devil in there life if we wanna play that game lol.

Yeah, see that's real talk; I fukk with Buddhism too, it's cool. As far as agnostic atheist, do you still attend church with family or anything? And yeah true, I think America is too big to even pull some shyt like France, so it's a hard point to even convince. And naw I don't want to do that, he's cool. But I just know this gonna leave a salty taste in nikkas mouths and they Finna be thinking I'm an atheist, which will be looked down at in society smh.

No, it shouldn't be banned in public schools. Schools shouldn't be able to force religion on students, but if a student decides to express religion himself, then that's fine.
