I’ve always wondered how the average New Yorker felt when 9/11 happened. What was the feeling like in NYC in general? To compare - I remember the London 7/7 bombings like yesterday cos my mum used to work around Liverpool Street back then & she already left the house when the news broke. Everyone was crying cos we couldn’t get through to her for a few hours. The network was also bad that day & sadly she was on the shyttest network back then (Orange Network before they merged with T-mobile to form EE). When we finally got through to her - shyt was crazy.

With 9/11, I remember I was at home that day with my nan (grandma) watching TV when we saw the newsflash showing “America under attack”. Boom, she switched to BBC & we saw the second plane hit the building (missed the first one tho). Seeing people jump out of those buildings was horrific.

I’ve wondered why the USAF didn’t shoot down the 2nd plane before it hit the building.

Every country tells about the evils of nations they aren’t allies with

Breh I went all through graduate school and professors were not speaking much on communism and socialism, that's more of a thing of the past. In fact, some of the professors were the most liberal and progressive people I've ever met. I will say there is still very much a stigma about communism in the U.S. but we were not taught to outright hate them. My point is the Saudis are outright teaching terrorism.

The fact these towel terrorists were amateur pilots who were able to masterfully steer two planes into two separate massive buldings and bring both crashing down never sat right for me. Seems far too perfect a disaster.

It’s not like they grabbed a couple of damn crop dusters or something and plopped them down in a field.

Even something “small” like an old Cessna Citation requires skill. So we are to believe these cats grabbed 4 midsized commercial jets and expertly flew them into their intended targets “except” the one in PA?

I dunno mayne. Feels like a great set up for a blockbuster summer movie with a scene that folks have never seen before over here and that’s what caught everyone off guard.

Just the sheer amount of instruments in these planes and we are told one person was whipping it with precision and didn’t slip up AT ALL? With all of the damn structures in the city. It’s not even like one of them thangs simply clipped the side of the building and went down. Both went right in.

And let’s not even talk about DC. To this day we “only” have crappy stop motion grainy footage. We’re talking one of the most secure places on earth that likely has CCTV everywhere — and a plane came within 200 miles of DC airspace and didn’t get intercepted? Cmon

Once a plane is in the air, if all you plan to do is crash it, it’s not that hard. All they had to do was crash into two of the biggest buildings in the nyc skyline.

Not saying they couldn’t have fukked up with or without prep time, I’m just saying it’s not as hard as one might think when planning is in place.

I was a little girl at the time, a friend of my family years later caught lung cancer from the smoke, he got stuck walking in one of the blocks that quickly filled up with smoke.

He initially thought it was a fire that went bad and didn't know until he got home that it was actually from the WTC attacks.

My dad was a detective at the time and remembers how he got called off a case to meet up with the rest of his department to help assist the Firemen and EMS lead bystanders from nearby blocks away to safety .

Saudi Arabia kicked Bin Laden out of their country before 9/11. Saudia Arabia was America's best ally in the region.

Iirc either they or Pakistan offered to tell the US exactly where bin laden was if the US could prove that bin laden orchestrated those attacks

The US STILL has provided concrete evidence to this day

The US government didn't even want to investigate the event. It took over a year and pressure from victims and their family to start the 9/11 commission, which was a bullshyt organization built to fail and not get anything done
