Remember how teachers always complained how underpaid they were?

As always with the coli it is one extreme opinion or the extreme opposite

Not all teachers are making high pay and chilling

But

Not all are making 30k and working numerous hours and have it hard

The thing is the Average American takes way less than 2 weeks vacation a year

All the shyt people talk about Americans being lazy is hilarious cause we work the most and take the least amount of vacation

Teachers get a huge amount of off time
And that is the prob
A lot of people became teacher just for that reason

They did not have it in their heart to teach
But they wanted that time off and ability to travel during the summer

So they get in the classroom and end up hating the job and not giving a fukk about yo kids

And with the teacher unions, they know they can be shytty ass teachers and not get fired

There is a systematic dysfunction in the school system
There are so many teachers who should be fired
But they get moved around to other schools or positions

Act like EVERY teacher is a hard working underpaid angel

Some of these people have an agenda
Some are racist as fukk
Some want to have their religion trump text
Teachers fukking kids and shyt

You might want to hold these mafukkas accountable

If school was year round there would be a lot less people just jumping to become teachers.

Most teachers don't make 80K a year. And if they do, they deserve every cent of it.

Teachers don't just show up to class at 8 and go home at 3.
They grade papers.
They tutor.
They prepare lessons.
They actually do work during the summers.
Often, they have to come out of their own pockets for school supplies.
And they're educating your stupid fukkin kids that you won't because you're tired from your job so you sit them in front of a tv or hand them an iPad and then you're outraged when they perform poorly and have no sense of the world or history.

Only a fukking a$$hole would complain about teachers having some sort of cushy gig.

Teaching takes at minumum a bachelors degree puls 1-2 years as a Teaching Assistant, maybe a masters degree and you can maybe get a 40k a year job. Also, even though they have summers off most teachers take second jobs or tutor during that time period.

Thank you, this is what I am talking about. I had some great teachers along the way and they earned what they got and deserved even more, but they never stood up in front of class complaining about the pay. They loved what they did and would have done it for less because they loved it and they knew they were making a difference.

On the other side of it, I had teachers who just went through the motions, going through the same lesson plan year after year, not giving a fukk. All tests were scantron or we did peer grading in class. These pricks weren't taking work home and they'd be pulling out of the parking lot to go home while we were still waiting for the bus to load. They'd be the ones up in front of class singing the blues about how hard it is to be a teacher and how the pay was terrible yet it turns out, they probably made more than just about any of our parents did.

The union story is true as well. We seem to have a lot of teachers in here and if they are any good at what they do, they're probably furious at how much the union protects the worthless teachers I'm talking about.

You're wrong about one thing. You do not "still get paid" in the summer. Your 9-10 month paycheck is stretched.
So when we compare teachers salaries to other occupations, we should only calculate what those other jobs make per 9 months right?

Defend teachers brehs, the snobbiest, most entitled bytch ass group of workers America has.

Teachers have it easy.

Weekends off, holidays off, 2 months straight off in the summer.

Vacation days, sick days.

Easy ass curriculum, form a formula and keep using it for years.

Easy to deal with kids, kids are the least difficult to control.

Average 60-70k a year.

Defend teachers brehs.

:ohhh: Every single waitress in America died?

Not understanding what you don't understand

My friends checked me on that "not getting fired" talk...

They said that they very well can get fired... But because of their union, there has to be an investigation 1st with evidence of them violating their contract

Some innocent until proven guilty stuff... I can understand the investigation part because there are some kids who will say whatever it takes to get a teacher out of there

shyt, an easy way to tell teachers ain't making all that. Look at the parking lot. Some of the older teachers are pushing nice whips. Any teacher that's been there 10 years or under usually pushing beat the fukk up shyt.
that's just a matter of putting in the time.

A lot of teachers make around 70k after 15 years, but could make potentially double that as a principle. I guess ambition has something to do with it as well.....

The Comfort Zone
OP, looks like you have begun to moonwalk a bit based on the response here. Do you personally know any teachers?

First off

  1. $44,515

Average Salary for All K-12 Teachers
    Job National Salary Data
High School Teacher 4325 salaries $46,953
Special Education Teacher, Preschool, Kindergarten, or Elementary School 1222 salaries $44,515
Middle School Teacher 1196 salaries $43,848
Special Education Teacher, Secondary School 629 salaries $48,385

And that's the national avg. so they are doing fine According to whom?

Second. Most are in unions and can't be fired. So all this, b-b-but you have to educate and control them......... This is BIG misconception about unions. Having a union/tenure just guarantees due process, meaning they can't fire you for any ol' reason...like being black, a woman, disabled, or the Principal's daughter needs a job. It can be tedious, but a teacher most certainly CAN be fired. A lot of admins are too lazy to make a paper trail.

You can have your shining star as a teachers assistant and have them grade the papers. Or maybe you teaching a class/grade that doesn't require much effort. Teaching 4th grade English is harder than AP chemistry

A kid grading papers? Nope. You'd get written up for that now. I wish I could have someone grade my papers. What are you talking about? I challenge you to find teachers who even have official "teaching assistants." Even so, an "assistant" works directly with students, not for you.

And add the fact that for 2-3 months. 4 if we count winter and spring breaks. Plus holidays and weekends. They barely work most of the year.

Add in those 3-4 months and add it to salary and they'd be up on the 60-70s on average
Hypothetical...I see :ehh:

A lot of people became teacher just for that reason
Half of teachers who enter the force QUIT or get fired within five years

They did not have it in their heart to teach
But they wanted that time off and ability to travel during the summer

So they get in the classroom and end up hating the job and not giving a fukk about yo kids

And with the teacher unions, they know they can be shytty ass teachers and not get fired (See above)

There is a systematic dysfunction in the school system
There are so many teachers who should be fired
But they get moved around to other schools or positions
Happens much more often with administrators

Act like EVERY teacher is a hard working underpaid angel
I'm not gonna front like this is the case, but you guys are making A LOT of blanket statements like they are gospel.

Some of these people have an agenda
Some are racist as fukk
Some want to have their religion trump text
Teachers fukking kids and shyt
I can agree with this, but this is NOT the norm. See how you said some? I know some shytty teachers, but 90% of who I've worked with over the years are dedicated and work really hard. Ya'll let the tiny minority speak for all of us.

You might want to hold these mafukkas accountable

If school was year round there would be a lot less people just jumping to become teachers.

Like I said, if teaching is soooooooo cushy, become one. I could go into so much more, but it is taking time away from my planning (which I have been doing for the last four hours btw). Spew Fox News talking points brehs :francis:

I can reason with 1 nikka, 35 muthafukkas doing fukk shyt and somebody gotta get some correction. The reason I could never be a teacher.
