I was talking to a breh who came from West Africa as a 14yr old into USA into an all white neighborhood. The breh experienced so much prejudice And ignorance from the other kids it messed up his mental serious. He change the pronounciation of his name, began imitating the kids, trying to suppress his accent. He told me it was hard as hell. Now he is trying to heal from those years. It's hard for him because he feels like he wasn't accepted and I can tell his confidence is not where it should be.
That's messed up. I hope he's ok & he's around other Black people that'll help him embrace being comfortable in his own skin. I never realized how bad that could be till bruh's like my nikka @Sagat IRL told me about that. I'm thankful I never had to experience that & I do my best to be patient & not judge any bruh's that were raised like that.
