I find it funny that they have to clarify that the video is real and not generated by AI because of the amount of people who continue to believe that these videos are fake.

│ It's so funny. They keep trying new elements and posting extra videos to make it hard for people to call it fake, cgi or ai generated.

│ Some people thought the first dancing video was fake, so they posted 请大家欣赏，宇树G1跳舞实拍 - 小红书 with a mirror behind the robot while they hit it with balls and sticks.

│ Same thing for the kung fu video, so they posted 720度回旋踢，请听声音！ - 小红书 but with the ceo in frame interacting with it.

│ For the side-flip video, they just had someone firing at it.

│ And for this most recent one, they have people in the background and interacting with the robot again, and now they finally added text.

│ Some people will still think they're fake, even with all that. But as more companies showcase the same capabilities, like in that recent Boston Dynamics video, it'll just keep getting harder to stay a skeptic and call them fake.

[Robotics] Unitree robots in Hangzhou are training for the world’s first MMA-style “Mech Combat Arena.” Four teams will control the robots with remotes in real-time competitive combat. The event will be held in late May and broadcast live on Chinese TV.

When you scroll social media you’ll see many, many Reels or TikToks with humanoid robots right now. They are talking, being funny, people help them up when they stumble, they make music, the whole “clanker” trend.
Seems like someone has an agenda to push this normalization, which is a good thing I guess. (Or it’s organic, who knows.)
Anyway, normal everyday people are getting used to them now, they are roaming the streets in more and more cities (particularly in Asia but also Austin and so on). And the vibe is very different than with AI because they seem like clumsy and somewhat dorky humans who want take our jobs but help us and be funny companions.
Future will be interesting.
