His album flopped in comparison to the manufactured hype they built up for him and how popular he was on social media, but 46k first week on your first album is not a career ending flop.

He was one of the first artist out of this new era of "clout kid" rappers and definitely the first to drop a full retail release. They didn't know how to properly market him and used traditional marketing tactics to lukewarm results.

Now the music industry has a much better grasp on how to properly build a true hardcore fanbase out of large social media followings.

He's still super popular on social media among young kids, people are still checking in on him and his life, they just gotta produce decent music and build up his hardcore fanbase through that and guerilla marketing over a period of time and bam he's super relevant again.

QC one of the smarter labels when it comes to hiphop, they're gonna make something shake. nikkas thought the Migos were done before "bad and boujee" came out.
Difference is migos can actually make records and can rap.

Yatchy was carried by image and hype. Even his fans were disappointed in his debut album. Regardless of marketing and all that the music was trash.

shyt always weird to me he wants to be king of teens but dude like 19/20 years old when he said it..he turns 21 this summer...

he like 3-4 years removed from high school but his entire market is high school kids..

hes closer to the age people graduate 4 year colleges than he is to teenagers

people keep saying "hes young thats why his flow basic" dude is about to be able to drink in just a few short months.. he aint that young for the elementary rhymes..

with that said, his song with him and Tee Grizzly was one of my favorite songs of 2017

Yachty gets a lot of love within the industry, he's been a solid feature for the past year. I can definitely see him growing as an artist, even if he's not in the limelight anymore.

He's been a "solid feature" for the past year cause QC has been desperately planting him on people's stuff. Peep that QC comp. It's no coincidence that the tracks he's on are damn near all the ones with the best beats.

His name is bigger than his music at this point. Cant even remember what his one hit was. Lots of feautures from up-and-commers coming for the next year, because technically for up-and-commers thats a good look. So he’s got another year to cake up on all that feature money and hopefully for him impress us on one of em.

whoa breh :whoa: You can't say that on this site. We're still pretending like the Migos have been dropping classics since the very beginning and that they were so highly requested. In fact, Metro jumped on their wave to save his career, not the other way around :laff:

Migos were counted out about 3 different times and would rebound with a hit. They’re basically the group version of 2 Chainz, where the minute you think they’re dead, they come back. It also helps that Migos have a legit fanbase. Yachty doesn’t. He’s like Desiigner in that aspect.
