I think he did most of her album . Iirc
A lot of deep album cuts for commercially released projects will have that contrived manufactured soundThat def sounds like earlier Al![]()
Nelly was a super plant. There’s no way you’re telling me this guy’s work sounded good before multi-million dollar production budgets and there’s no way that man’s work bubbled up in the hood before he was discoveted. He was manufactured or auditioned for the role or something
Good luck finding any of his work before his breakout debut single
A lot of artists don't have work that you could put your hands on before they blew up. From my understanding, most of what became Country Grammar was his demo. He wasn't a plan. He was discovered by Cudda Love who was connected to Mase. Nelly's production was handeled by his childhood friend. Dude produced all of Country Grammar.
Never listened to a Nelly album
Interesting collab
Alchemist has similar beats from that time, though:
Nelly and Alc is like Afroman and DJ Premier.

Basically he was Flo Rida, known for hits and club music but not an MC by any stretchI don't get why it would be weird for a rap fan to be listening to an entire Nelly album.
I think what he’s getting at is that Nelly was never known as a great rapper. Everything he did had a melody or harmony when he would rap. Cee-Lo outside of gnarls Barkley was a dope rapper.Definitely not a good comparison. Nelly over ALC is more like Cee Lo over Premo. Cee Lo's "Evening News" was a different sound for Premo and the craziest part about it is Cee Lo sang over most of the song and then hit us with a "Goodie Bag" level verse at the end of the song. It was "Closet Freak" Cee Lo meets "Goodie Bag" Cee Lo.
