I'm a jersey guy that's been living in PA for the last 3 years. I bought a house in Monroe County and I'm now looking to get my feet wet in getting a rental property. I'm an hour away from Scranton so what's the deal with that place? I get it's in the hood but why is it so bad that a 4 family or 3 family house is going for 100k and some for less? I mean a mortgage has be be around $900 a month and with a 3 or 4 family house the owner should walk away with some decent money monthly from renters. I'm looking for feedback or advice from people that know the market there. Some examples below:
