The average voter isn't nuanced in their thinking enough to see this. And that's why Dems fumbling on this is so dangerous. American voters (esp. Democratic leaning voters) are fickle as hell and need to be inspired to get off their ass and vote. Besides voting out Trump, 2k checks and the $15 minimum wage increase was a major inspiration for many people to come out and vote. I honestly don't see how this wont translate into Democrats getting completely destroyed in 2022.

That was the major inspiration for the majority of people to get out here in vote especially in those GA elections where runoffs always have low voter turnout. You even dudes on this thread mentioning the $2,000 as a reason to get out there and vote. Now those same people are caping and defending the amount coming in lower than what was initially said. People can spin it all they want, but they said $2,000 and were intentional in thier wording to get people out there and vote.

Hell you even had Warnock and Ossoff using it as a talking point to entice voters.

I didn’t even notice that bait and switch until this thread. They really did say people would get $2,000 then pulled the “technically, you got $600 already” I wonder how the Georgia runoffs would have turned out if the dems said “an additional $1400” instead

And there you have it
Do y'all think they wouldn't have won it if the messaging were "$1,400" instead of "$2,000"?
Wouldn't they have still saw that they were getting another stimulus with one vote vs nothing with the other vote and based it on that? (if stimulus was their main driver)

They still could have both seats with the $1,400 while saving themselves the headache of dealing with voters who feel (and rightfully so) mislead by their intentional wording. $2,000 has a better ring to it than $1,400.

Now if the $2,000 or $1,400 was never mentioned at all, then I think the vote would have split with Warnock winning and Ossoff losing. Kelly Loeffler was too tainted of a candidate to pull out a win.

I said this was going to happen. Trump isn’t in office yet you somehow managed to deflect blame on him. The people did everything joe Biden told them to do. They got rid of trump and got him 2 senate seats and yet there’s still no accountability. Trump is the reason we’re even talking about a 2k stimulus. The dems agreed to $600. Trump used it to his advantage and that’s how we got here. They should have stuck to their commitment of $2k. At the end of the day it’s the same amount anyway. They should really be pushing 2k checks like he said he would do.

Deflect blame, is that what its called when you analyze the situation? The democrats were saying the stimulus isnt big enough but they agreed to the bullshyt $600 because they knew that is what could pass. Trump saw he was losing the election and was in a pissing match with Mitch so he threw out the $2k number to throw a monkey wrench into Mitch plan knowing damn well that wasnt going to pass. He was just going scorched earth at that point in time.

No accountability? The hell you talking about pretty much everyone is saying they stupid for reducing the threshold. Me in particular, hell i was cut off from the first round of checks and been screaming they stupid if they reduce it more.

They should have moved forward with the $2k with the same threshold and then forced Joe Manchin to vote against it. Thats the thing with Dems, they dont call these fukkers bluff. Republicans will do that shyt, they putting shyt up for a vote and making you show your hand.

Joe Manchin is a Democrat though, so voting against it hurts his own party even with his Republican tendencies. People are going to look at Manchin and see that he voted against it as a Democrat.

People don't care about what is a Dino Dem, Progressive or Moderate in a two party system. All that matters is Democrat or Republican. So the powerplay that you're referring will not work with members of the same party.

:ehh:
You see how them cats had no qualms whatsoever about running up on members of their own party after the Capitol riots. Was even about to run the fade on Graham and he had been supporting Trumps rhetoric :mjlol:

Manchin ain’t scared of Nancy, Chuck or any member of his own party which is why he feels emboldened to do what he’s doing lol. They have other no choice, but to cave into his demands as they are in need of his vote.

when they ran down on graham at the airport ; shyt had me :mjlol:

that’s when he started walking back on all the shyt he was saying about the Capitol . Trump supporters literally bullied that man to fall back under his thumb .

I said the dems should not have agreed to the $600 months ago when they did it. You said if trump was in office the people wouldn’t geT the 2k, If trump didn’t say we needed the 2k they would have all went on vacation and that would have been the last of the stimulus. People in here aren’t blaming trump, joe manchin, the republicans. I agree with you on the forcing joe manchin to get in line.

in totality $2000 otherwise it would be a stimulus of more than $2000. :yeshrug:
They finessed the switch breh....

Bernie was sayin 2k, the public liked that number, so moderate dems ran with that but tried to act like the 600 already given comprised a part of that...... if we were on the block this woulda got them sent for

Manchin has no incentive to fall in line unless he gets what he wants. He knows they need his vote to force the tie, so he can hold them hostage anytime he pleases. He seems to have no fear of Nancy, Chuck or members of his own party. Forcing him to vote against it hurts his own party with him being labeled as a Democrat. All Republicans have to say is that "we voted against the stimulus bill, but members of your own party did as well."

Just because Manchin has Republican tendencies doesn't mean that Republicans won't form like Voltron against him if it means taking control of his seat.

You’re waisting your time. I said it before, these democratic voters criticize the trump voters for being crazy but they have the same mindset ie voting out of emotion. There’s no logic involved. Joe Biden’s team insinuated during election time that they would forgive 50k in student loans, then they backtracked to 10k, now it’s nothing. They said 2k checks, backtracked to $1400 now it’s nothing. Yet they’re still defending the Democrats the same way republicans voters defend trump. They are the same people and don’t even know it.

If I are going to claim to be the logical one then you're going to have to make assumptions based on actual facts.

Let's start with your claim that biden or his campaign team promised $50K. I can plenty of examples of him promising $10K, but not for $50k

The second bolded is also an exaggeration as well on your part.

I didn’t say he promised 50k loan forgiveness, I said they insinuated it. Where’s the $1400? He said the republicans were the problem and he needed the 2 senate seats, he got them. Where’s the money?

Biden said 10K. Chuck, Warren and other Democratic members said 50K.

Chuck and I believe Nancy said $600 was the down payment. Biden and other Democratic members said $2,000 was the next stimulus amount in order to win those two GA seats. Even Warnock and Ossoff said $2,000 was going to be the next amount if they won the Senate. They still could have won both seats even with just saying $1,400 was going to be the next amount. They were intentionally misleading with their wording.

This is what I’ve been trying to explain to these dudes since last night , but I got dudes on this thread telling me to use my logic & that under “ republicans we wouldn’t get shyt “

these dudes think that auntie and grandma that were persuaded to vote by Stacy Abrams during the Georgia runoff is gonna put 2 and 2 together when it comes to political talking points . They’re gonna straight up say they LIED to us . Last thing you want is to give people more reasons why to stay at home .

For God’s sake these people pulled up and voted during Covid man smh , the democrats are pathetic.
