If you don't advance in history, you limit your job opportunities. Masters will get you teaching k-12, but its really worth it to get that PhD

I looked into grad school after graduating but couldnt jive with 4 more years of school. I ended up in the commercial insurance industry....i make decent loot but sometimes i wonder...

Getting it now. A tenured professor job is one of the most secure jobs you can have, makes it really hard to be let go, plus you get sabbaticals.
You can always go back fam. I hate the rat race sometimes, but when you see how white the history field is, and how some fukkers totally disregard black history and subscribe to the Dunning school thoughts on black inferiority, you see that we are needed. We literally write what others will study for generations to come.
