They still would have won 1 ring but I'm not sure if they would have been able to win more than that. The West was just as tough back then if not more tough than today, and while Pippen was at his best when deferring to the primary scorer, he wasn't a particularly great high volume scorer, which is the role that Kobe filled very well in the last 2 title runs

Pippen wasn't as versatile a scorer but he was still a great passer and he'd probably be terrifying on defense.

They win 2...maybe 3. Kobe's ability to score was absolutely crucial in some of those Western confrence battles and his ability to take over a game when Shaq sat was important.

Pippen wouldn't get them past the Spurs, so 1.

Breh they beat the Spurs 8-1 in back to back years. You really think the gap between Kobe and Pippen is as large as the gap between sweeping a team and losing to them. I could see if they won tight 7 games series or something along those lines.

Pippen isn't as good as Kobe obviously but there is still no duo fukking with Shaq and Pippen during that time. Kobe wasn't even Kobe throughout the first run so I don't see why Pip can't fill in there. They ran through nikkas in 2001 so I don't see why Scottie can't fill in there. Now 02 is where it gets a little sketchy. The Kings prolly take them out that year. So that's 2 out of 3.

pippen w/o MJ 2 seasons:

22.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 2.9 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game, while shooting 49.1% from the field and a career-best 32% from 3, 3rd in MVP voting

:whew:

lakers go undefeated in finals

Pippen is so underappreciated. Easily the best all-round player I've ever seen. Never seen a player so able to catch on to his team's deficiency on a game by game basis, and fill in that deficiency.
