they would definitely three peat with this team with a 25-30 year old Kobe Bryant I don't think even the deepest haters would deny this

Based upon? What would a prime Kobe be doing that this Kobe is not doing? Obviously he's not the athlete or the defender that he was then. That's the only thing keeping them from being a championship team...Kobe's athleticism?

Basically. He was the best wing defender in the NBA for years and could play at that high level for 48 minutes if need be. That goes a long way. He was a 1 man fast break much like how Lebron is now and probably the greatest scoring machine ever. He could give you 17 in the 3rd quarter and sit the fourth. That type of high level play on both ends of the floor would make this an easy three peat. He almost three peated with a far inferior roster from 08-11

The Lakers would definitely have a much better record and their parts would fit a whole lot better if Bron was there instead of Kobe. Bron makes his teammates better and Kobe is a straight up scorer on the court and that's ok. But on this Lakers team James would make Dwight and Pau the dominant forces they are supposed to be. And he would relieve Nash of all the playmaking duties as well. I take nothing away from Bean, Bron is just better and it really shouldn't even be a question as to who makes their team better.

they would be better if they had a prime kobe.... one of their biggest issues is perimeter D and kobe was one of the best overall defenders

That wasnt' his prime though? :heh: The first Finals was on the tail end and they lost. And he was actually worse in 2011 than he's been that last couple seasons. I just don't see how a more athletic Kobe somehow transforms this team from under .500 to clear cut champ. You would still have the same issues with the rest of the team. :manny:

Lebron took these scrubs to an NBA final. Dude literally had no legitimate second option other than Gibson hitting those wide open threes when Lebron was doubled and tripled. Most these guys were on their last legs or were rookies and sophomores. More than half the guys on this Cavs team aren't even in the NBA today. Niccas seriously need to look at this roster and think about what Lebron did. Not to mention a couple years later, they won like 67 games right? Only to be the worst team in the NBA the next year :pachaha:

Lebron is so much better of a basketball player than Kobe Bryant that it's not even close. And he has been SINCE he took these Cavs to the Finals. Lebron has been playing along two All-Stars the past two seasons and he's already been to the finals twice and obviously winning a chip last year. If he was playing with Nash, Gasol, Howard and MWP, how could one not think he wouldn't at the very least have them as a top 3 team in the west?

:wtf:

When was this?

I'd say up until 2003 you could say Kobe was one of the best wing defenders in the NBA but that was damn near 10 years ago. Kobe has been living off that rep for farrrrr too long. Kobe, if he WANTED to play great defense on certain possessions he could but Kobe hasn't consistently been shutting anyone down for almost 10 years bruh.

As for the scoring, sure, Kobe is a great scorer but when he played on those weak Laker teams and was averaging 30+ ppg, his teams went nowhere. The Lakers didn't start winning against until Pau Gasol came to town. Not because of Kobe's great scoring numbers

:comeon:

Yea Kobe's the reason a starting lineup with Smush Parker, Luke Walton, & Kwame Brown didnt get anywhere

and yes the Lakers won those titles because of Kobe's scoring, if he doesnt do the bulk of the scoring in the playoffs, they lose...its that simple

So you're admitting that Kobe's numbers this year aren't as nice as they appear? :mjpls:

Ok well that's your opinion... theres no convincing you of anything with logic or reason. Kobe's PRIME ended after the second championship in a row IMO that was when we saw a decline in his play. He wasn't at his complete best but he was still a lot more athletic and just overall a better player. If you don't see how a more athletic and younger kobe would transform this team then just google "LA LAKERS NBA TITLE" and tell me what you see.

Wrong wrong and wrong. The lakers were in first place in the west before pau gasol even came to LA. They thoroughly dominated the playoffs that year and proably would have got to the finals without Pau, and they lost anyway. Either way Pau had a great contribution...but don't overstate 17 and 11. Kobe still averaged 30+ in the playoffs and finals where it mattered so I don't see your point.

their still great numbers but thats all they are... numbers... just like LeBrons numbers before the first heat year were to me just numbers... he could have had better numbers in 08 09 10 but as a consequence of the good coaching and him playing lock down D he didn't have to be option 1 and 2 on a team. Obviously numbers aren't a barometer of greatness, I need to explain this often to Lebron stans.
