Rondo's one of the best PGs, maybe the best pure PG, and you're gonna trade him within the division?

There is probably about 5 people in the entire league that Ainge would trade Rondo for.
The earliest 1st rounder the Knicks can trade is 2018.
They give away picks, but the saddest part is, they actually draft pretty well.

Ainge isn't trading Rondo for Shump and an expiring contract. Not a chance. I'd make an avi bet on that enforceable for the entire season.
There is absolutely no package the NY Knicks can offer that would get them Rondo including Melo (because he won't resign, and they probably wouldn't want him anyways for that kind of money)
They don't have any draft picks, and they don't have any high level prospects. Shump and Hardaway could be good, but are they future multiple time all stars? Probably not.
Avery Bradley for Shump is an interesting possibility though, because he's a restricted free agent this offseason and I'm not sure they'll agree on money. I don't think Avery Bradley is a player that should be making more than like 6-8 million a year at most right now and other teams probably will offer that, if not more so trading him for Shump who you can have longer and might have a higher ceiling might be interesting.
Not necessarily, Rumors have been going on about a Rondo for Asik trade, Boston is in tanking mode, they already are playing too formidable now, if Rondo comes back he may even have them playing better.......
Not to mention Rondo it doesnt fit that Celtic mode of players they have been trying to trade for years now....................

What's funny to me is that people don't even realize Rondo is going to be BETTER playing with this group of guys.
