Lakers would draft Jahlil and Thibs wouldn't play him because of rookie mistakes on the defensive end. Sacre would be getting those gutty gritty Thibs minutes because of his intangibles and years of NBA experience.

Lakers can give the Bulls what they want which is a first rounder, which the Lakers have (late 1st rounder) & 2nd rounder.......
Thibs & his 90's offense don't work come playoff time and he plays his starters so much that Luol Deng & Noah have aged 10 years in NBA years. And he doesn't know how to utilize his talent to its fullest and make adjustment.
Lakers might as well let Scott coach another year or two, than make the coaching change once the team is officially a contender.
Why would you fire Scott once he makes them a contender?
Thibs has great defensive schemes and manages to get his guys to buy in.
The problem is he doesn't have a good offense, he's a poor tactician, and never plays younger guys who may help.

He's had a top-10 offense every season and portion of season(s) when Rose was playing - how's he expected to have great offensive teams without his franchise player and the bullshyt that the FO signs? He plays younger guys just as much as every other coach does that's competing and not rebuilding.
Gibson, Butler (role player version), Dunleavy, Augustin and Hinrich were the top 5 scorers in that series. Not even Pop would get that group past the Wizards.

This right here is why I say you can't put everything on thibs. The front office failed to deliver on a quality roster. This season was just embarrassing. They had literally no excuse not to add to this roster especially in year 1 of lebron in cleveland.
