You must of not watched that game... they lost to Dallas due to DESEAN JACKSON'S dumb and selfish heroics. It was COUSINS that got the Skins back in the virtually last seconds to tie it up for almost overtime, but the special teams of the Redskins couldn't defense the kick return and gave Dallas field position to kick the game winning FG.

We got a field goal out of 3 turnovers in the Dallas game. 9 points all game, and I guess Kirk threw that game tying TD to himself

This...while he isn't anything special and is benefitting from being the right color, WAS has other needs they should address first, might as well keep a QB who's decent enough not to be a liability. No point in drafting someone else, or getting another FA and we all know RG3 is outta there so...

He got a CONCUSSION. That's not some shyt someone can control and under the guise of that the coach handed the starting position to Cousins. Gruden snaked him and Kirk, perception or not, is taking advantage of the long leash he's been given.

I guarantee you by this time next year there's gonna be a lot of cats on this site pretending they weren't throwing shade to Bob and Kaepernick. They're both talented, they both got snaked by shady folks hiding behind press leaks, and hurt themselves physically trying to be loyal and somehow got criticized for that too. They're both going to end up on a new squad with coaches that give a fukk about them and they'll be balling again. I'm crossing my fingers that neither one of them ends up going to AZ and being Carson's successor with Bruce Arians.

RG3 couldn't get the ball in the endzone last year with Jackson/Garcon, etc

On the play he got a concussion he could have got rid of the football. If this was his first injury....sure no big deal. But thats his 3rd concussion in 5 years (dating back to his last year in college). He broke his ankle last year on a rollout.

I'm not DONE with RG3. I just think his time is up in Washington.

He can't perform so bad in practice where they feel they are better off with Kirk/Colt.

I may be overreacting, but its just disappointing to see him not step up when he had the chances too.

RG3 isn't a good Quarterback it's just that simple. He doesn't have pocket awareness, he doesn't know how to slide to avoid the hit, and he hold the ball to long which results in getting sacked a lot. Those glaring issues can't be fixed in a day, a week, or even a month it would takes at least 2-3 years to relearn the basic fundamentals.

I don't know why people are still up in their feelings about this? Kirk is better for biz. As soona s the skins got a good oline Gruden benches RgIII after a week where behind a backup line he was sacked like 6 times in the first quarter.He never got a chance to play behind the line Kirk is playing behind now. That says it all. RgIII is cool with Sneider and will get a nice golden parachute or a hookup to another opportunity elsewhere and the Redskins will always suck until they draft a real stud QB. Thems the breaks, who cares? If I was RgIII I'd be dying to get the fukk outta that town so I could get a fresh start with a team that has an oline and is fully committed to giving me an opportunity without Whitey McBrightsmile breathing down my neck. not a reason to give me a long term contract

RGIII did the exact same thing without desean jackson and has even had a full season to play since coming back from injury

but I hope they do give him the contract, so the redskins can be sit back another ten years as the dumbest franchise

the division was beyond trash this year so they were lucky, kirk can make throws when he is protected like any other QB, when he get pressured he doesn't deal with well

also RGIII shined in the biggest games on the biggest stage and carried the team his rookie year throwing the ball from the pocket and running

the redskins will be laughed at when he shines with another team, gruden never wanted RGIII and never put out an offense to suit his strengths, probably because he didn't know

the style of offense they run is not championship football, which is why they can't beat the better teams in the league, not to mention cousins FOLDS UNER THE SPOTLIGHT

nikkas is salty as fck b. Remember when the skins signed mcnabb to an extension and then they released him like a month later? This is all speculation right now brehs.
Assuming Kirk does get a 3 or 4 year deal, give him props because literally everyone picked the skins to get 2-4 wins max this season. Captain Kirk can't catch a break even when he's winning. Smh.
First it was, Kirk sucks he can't win. Now it's, Kirk doesn't deserve a contract because he got 7 lucky wins.

Last thing I am is a Redskins stan and certainly not a Kirk Cousins stan.

But some of y'all must have selective memory. Did you even see RG3 play the last couple years in the off chance he was actually healthy, it was HORRENDOUS. Not serviceable, not "I still see something there", no it was HORRENDOUS. He didn't even look like he belonged in the NFL it was that bad. It shames me to say that because I always root for our black QB's but RG3 been washed. Maybe he needs a change of scenery because Washington isn't it.

Anyone in their feelings about them giving Kirk the nod after RG3 had his chances and either stunk up the joint or got hurt, needs to go back and watch some of those Skin games. Cousins got them probably about to make the playoffs and putting up decent stats while at it. The Redskins would have been to far uo the draft to get a promising QB and Cousins would have been the best FA QB out there so why not just keep him. Reasonable move to me, even if Cousins isn't the answer.

You talking about two teams that KNOW each other well and play each other hard defensively. Cousins in't make any mistakes in that game... the defense played them well. 2nd of all, Cousins GO TO GUY is JORDAN REED, not DeSean Jackson. Jackson is a dope deep threat, but he's not the end all be all for that offense.

Dog, Jackson being out there opens up the intermediate parts of the field. When he didn't play, the offense struggled.

Cousins without Jackson: 9 TDs, 8 INTS, 84.7 passer rating -- VERY MEDIOCRE
Cousins with Jackson: 13 TDS, 3 INS, 112.8 passer rating -- DAMN NEAR PRO BOWL LEVEL

Ask Nick Foles about the Jackson effect. When Foles was passing to Jackson, he looked incredible. When he wasn't passing to Jackson, he's very mediocre. It's that simple....without Jackson, Cousins is average at best. When Jackson and Reed were out, Cousins was terrible.
