They can work hand in hand, you know. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. It’s best to discover the relationship between them and how they influence each other than to talk one down as if they exist independently of each other.
Bruh I wasn't even trying to talk down..its just these past couple day ppl have gone overboard with it...I understand it serves a purpose....but when ppl start putting all these extras on it like they are now...it takes the focus off of what is more important...

Representation and socio-economics ain't linked but the dumbest of you keep trying to make that connection. You could be the richest man in the world and still give a damn about how you're represented in global media. Black people are not wrong for supporting positive representation.

If you got kids and they're in public school - in an education system run by whites, you ain't doing none of this stuff either. In fact, you've put them in an educational institution that encourages them to become employees, consume/spend and go into debt...but ok, keep thinking you're somehow smarter than everyone cause you can repeat the same tired "Are you..?" questions every other idiot who is trying to down the movie is doing.

Y'all up in arms about black panther, typing on a computer likely purchased from a white man, in a white owned business who got his inventory from a white man who purchased his parts from another white man....you probably have shelves filled with Madden NFL, NBA 2k and know The Godfather, Scarface, Rocky and Rambo by heart. You likely own at-least one Basketball jersey of a team owned by a white man and whom you probably bought online from another white man, and a pair of Nikes you desperately trying not to crease from, wait for it, another white man...none of that is contributing to black economic growth, black empowerment or the black community, and yet, we don't have a million threads about why owning/supporting/seeing any of this stuff is 'lame/dumb/stupid/pathetic" now do we?

Y'all are tired.

Your son watching the NFL on sunday...he can see himself as a quaterback? Now what?
:russell:... anything positive to contribute without insulting ppl for having a different opinion? If not put thread on ignore...thanks...

I don't care what anyone says, the Jews are smart. They work together. I did an inspection on this multi-family unit (2 one bed room apartments) and it was apart of a portfolio that these two Jewish couples owned. They had a decent amount of multi-family units too. Imagine if we bought condo's or co-ops with tax returns instead of Jordans.
The crazy part is it didn't take them that long either...maybe like 30-40 after ww2...granted they got free money...but it's what they did with it..like anything else in life...

Was thinking similarly earlier after reading about the Jamaican women's bobsled team's ordeal.

For those not in the know, aside from the Cool Runnings flick from some years ago, the women also compete and have a squad at this year's Winter games. Their coach, a German woman, for whatever reason was demoted from head driving coach to track performance analyst. Needless to say she wasn't too happy and decided to quit entirely, but here's the kicker. The $50,000 (yeah 50 racks) sled that the Jamaican team was using was leased by her, was in her name, making her legally and financially responsible for it. So when she quit, the sled went with her. Only if the team would pay her for the sled would she allow them to use it. So they team was temporarily without a sled until Red Stripe stepped in and financed a sled for them.

To me, that's as illustrative as it gets about ownership vs representation.

Women's Jamaican Bobsled team = represented at Olympics
Original sled = leased by a German woman until she got pissed and left and took the bobsled with her
New sled = fronted by Red Stripe

The irony of Red Stripe is although it's widely known as a Jamaican lager, here are the two men who started it.

It was eventually purchased by a company in London and now owned by the Dutch company we're familiar with, Heineken.

Think about that, the land that produced iconic music, iconic foods and drink, an iconic culture, and renowned figures such as Garvey and Bolt, has it's women representing at the Winter Games in 2018 for bobsledding. And their country couldn't even front them a sled. :dwillhuh: This is textbook "representation", but not true ownership. And as I pointed out it's not just current, but a history of a lack of ownership.

He/she is projecting. Whenever a black person on here brings up ownership, all the Stockholm Syndrome, 9-5 plantation negroes start projecting, "you talking about black ownership, but you's probably working for a white man right now" No nikka, you are.

Most of the nikkas on here who talk about the importance of ownership are business owners/self employed. Myself included. These nikkas arguing against ownership are the ones minimizing The Coli screen when their white boss/managers walks by.

I know bruh but I just don't understand why they feel the need to try to derail a topic they have no interest in...if I don't like sumn I ignore it and keep it moving...keeps my blood pressure low as well:yeshrug:

They derail because they're c00ns who are happy with the current status quo. It's always c00ns or cacs who try to derail these ownership threads.
