Yes to all those things. Is it enough to change over night, or even in a few years? Of course not. There's still a long way to go to fully close these gaps, but pretending that nothing has improved just isn't honest. The focus should be on building on those gains, not denying they ever happened. And that starts by acknowledging the role that the racist part plays in opposing policy that addresses these things.Have Dems helped close the wealth gap for FBA?
Have they helped raise the homeownership rate for FBA?
Have they reduced the incarceration rate?
Sinners is a trash movie???Ain't nobody watching these trash movies man, so what are you saying?
It's about me personally it's about Black people born into generational poverty. One in 5 Black Americans are born into the 3rd consecutive generation of poverty. It's about the high homicide rate. It's about the high incarceration rate. It's about the lack of wealth. Dems don't want to do anything to really address these circumstances.
Speak for yourself. That movie was pretty darn good.Ain't nobody watching these trash movies man, so what are you saying?
I worked for local government for 5 years when I was younger and it's the reason I stick with the Democratic party. They fund all kind of programs for minorities, low income people, veterans, homeless people, etc. The worse thing that can happen to a government employee is to see a Republican presidency and majority in Congress because as you said, the cuts will start coming. I am someone who gives a fukk about the disadvantaged regardless of skin color though, unless alot of people who diss Democrats. As someone who has worked in non profit going on 9 years where our funding is directly tied to which party is voted in, democrats do infinitely more to fund programs( which i handle the finances for) that progress minorities.
Programs that provide closing cost to first time home owners, free income tax preparation, low income housing, training for trade jobs, capital for entrepreneurs plus a bunch more.
Are they directly to black people? Nah. Moreso economic status and location, which is like 85% black areas.
Now when repugs are in, funding is cut. Programs are scaled back immensely. Organization tend to prioritize less hiring and more on sustaining the programs that are not being cut.
I can go on this whole diatribe about how the political makeup of our democracy makes it so minorities do more with less. Serve as perpetual cogs in the system. but its easier to find blame on one thing. Instead of how we got here and what moves we need impose to make shyt happen.
Nothing going to change over night vote give back when you can. Things are moving in the right directions.
Let some of these fools tell it and black people are still in chains and on plantations getting whipped. They've seen the progress we've made in this country but they'll downplay it, while spitting in the face of civil rights leaders from prior generations. You have people like Tariq Nasheed who openly shyt on John Lewis because he was a Democrat and helped white people too. Sometimes I wonder why black politicians even try to make any change because it'll never be enough and they'll be criticized by the very people they try to help. You see that in this very thread.Yes to all those things. Is it enough to change over night, or even in a few years? Of course not. There's still a long way to go to fully close these gaps, but pretending that nothing has improved just isn't honest. The focus should be on building on those gains, not denying they ever happened. And that starts by acknowledging the role that the racist part plays in opposing policy that addresses these things.
Of course you tethers will say this because your people benefitted.
How has the lesser of two evils benefited poor FBA people?
So explain how voting for the other party benefitting poor FBA people?
I never said we should vote republican. I said the Dems do not work in our interest and we have to find an alternative.

Top is congressional democrats’ intern class, bottom is the republican, but sure, the democrats want FBA to be a permanent underclass…
