I believe she was raped (statutory?) by an illegal immigrant too.

Republicans straight up care more for abortion rights than rape/ illegal immigration. Must have been hard for them lol

Yes. I dont know the legal differences in the US as I’m from the UK.

Statutory rape is legally classed and charged differently than violent/forcible rape. But that’s just the legal definition/differences.

In common law jurisdictions, statutory rape is nonforcible sexual activity in which one of the individuals is below the age of consent (the age required to legally consent to the behavior)

I’m saying I dont know if she was literally kidnapped, raped and got pregnant or whether he was a relative who molested groomed her. I doubt it’s the latter as he is an illegal immigrant.

Either way the focus shouldn’t be on him at this stage. It’s making sure the doctor isn’t charged and the girl has the abortion safely and gets the help she’ll need for the rest of her life.

For clarification, you are only questioning the legal distinction of the two charges possibly brought towards the suspect, right? Because on the morality side of things, it's always going to be forcible with a 10 year old considering a 10 year old doesn't have anywhere near the mental capacity to consent to sex. If it's a moral approach, it would be another case of why people shouldn't derive morality from law.

Yeah I explained above. I’m on a phone so can’t type paragraphs. But literally just didn’t know how to define his crime.

I appreciate the mild mannered response. I literally just didn’t know if there was a difference, hence the question mark.

To be fair, your comment should be recognized as such considering the term is a legal term, at least to my understanding, and I wouldn't expect to encounter it in moral discussions. But you should edit your original post with clarification. :mjlol: Because I can see how it comes off as though your are approaching it from a moral perspective.

Yeah I added a clarification!

This was a purely legal question and definitely not about morality. No way, no how.

When the Indiana AG did a interview on Fox News last night they posted that doctor picture. If something happens to that doctor Fox News got blood on their hands.

wouldn't be the first time
