I just went out last saturday for ethopian food. bill was $65. I dropped $80 when I added in the gratuity and had no issue with this. but ur paying for the service and the dine in experience.

if I'm picking up, I'm wasting my gas, my time and its less convenient, and I'm supposed to pay a premium for that bullshyt???

and what is it about the local restaurant expecting a gratuity for pickup service, yet your chains don't expect this for the same thing. I mean why aren't we tipping the folks at mcdonald's for handing me some shyt out the drive thru window?

i used to get tips working in the drive through and i appreciated it so i'm not against them asking
but there is legit some restaurants (WILD CRAB DECATUR) that will add a mandatory to go gratuity

I recently went to a new pizza place I never tried, and when I went to pay, they wanted to tack on a fee for me using my credit card. and while the fee is nominal, I'm like "why don't ya'll let me know about the fee prior to ordering or on the menu"?

or they can be like normal restaurants and factor in that credit card fee into the price of their menu items.

but don't bait and switch me. if there's a cash price and a credit card price, then let me know, so I can decide ahead of time if I even wanna patronize your business. in 2021, u charging extra for a credit card is a surefire way for me to never patronize your business, cuz I NEVER carry cash.

During the height of the pandemic they wouldn’t even let you touch the screen. They would do it for you. shyt was awkward as fukk literally telling the person you don’t want to tip them.

The excuse I've always heard in restaurants trying to justify tips for to go orders is all the "steps" involved in getting that order ready for takeout such as cooking the food and what not. The only problem with that notion is that it's illegal for restaurants to make waiter split tips with the cooks or any of the backstaff.

I have also heard that some restaurants don't actually give the computer added tips to the workers and actually keep it for themselves. It's why in some cases there's also a tip jar on the counter as well.

I hit them with the that's your job. Stop trying to put the wool over my eyes.

These companies stay trying slowly move the goalposts about tipping. Tired of the arbitrary rules some person makes up and then starts to shame other people who don't follow the same. This isn't charity.
