Yeah that shyt is annoying. When covid was really popping, a wing spot I go to put up a sign that said some shyt like, "tips please, we're just college kids". 
Lol it makes no sense. Am I tipping you because you made my food? Am I tipping for the convenience of me just being able to pick it up?
It's wrapped up in a bag. I'm not opening and eating until I get home . So why should I be tipping?

It's part of the receipt....you don't have to tip...damn

Couple things:
1) A lot of times they’re using the same POS system that they had used/are using for in house dining. The receipt automatically prints with a tip line.
2) Tip jars have been on the counter of fully take out joints since I was a kid in the 90s at least.
bottom line: don’t tip if you don’t want to tip. The expectation of tipping on takeout isn’t the same as dine in or delivery. Do what your heart desires

So...it was part of the standard receipt?
Yea I tip them like a $1 on my to go orders as an appreciation, but I’m not giving them a 18%-20% tip as if I was being served and waited on. fukk that.
Nowadays there's pop up screens where they have preset tip amounts for you to choose.

so I’m going to pick it up and take it out and they still want a tip? I paid for the food and went to pick it up how was served? I did the non-cooking effort at I tipping the cook?
