Sometimes, the analytics guys step out of bounds, but for the most part, they(the good ones) are accurate... and the good ones watch game tape and use analytics to put player data output and the tendencies into perspective.
I believe in the law of averages... for example....
Lebron's ppg, during his entire career, always has increased from the regular season into the playoffs, but his turnovers increase and he tends to miss very important FT's too. These are trends that analytics guys and people on this board that pay enough attention to the games catch.
