:what:

Check the release dates on RD & IWW and get back to me with a better argument.

Dead presidents(single)-Released February 20, 1996
Reasonable doubt - Released June 25 1996
IWW- Released July 2 1996

Does not compute. :why:
Seriously, I'm not a fan of being smug on message boards, but it's hard to take dudes seriously when you can't even get the basic facts (that are fundamental to your debate) right.
As it turns out, you did infact make this up.
I would have agreed if you said the mafioso styled theme was influenced by cuban linx, but what you said was absolute nonsense, sorry if I come across rude :ld:

:steviej:

U right

But yea the point is Jay switched his style up once he saw the winds blowing a certain way

OB4CL birthed him and Nas Escobar

The only people worse than Jay Z these days, are the hipsters that listen to him.

I don't want to watch Michael Jordan play basketball in 2013. Why would I want to hear Jay Z rap in 2013? Jay Z is trying too hard to appease the youth of today.

Don't waste your ears.

the funny thing is...your overall critique is very accurate, especially the way you dissected it and compared it to his prior works....but i still enjoy this album. it's a corporate backed album so you have to wonder how far he was actually allowed to go creatively while still satisfying his sponsors. like i said, i still enjoy it...it's like eating nathan's while buggin' out at coney island. you know there are more upscale, refined places that you could go to with way better food...but the feeling is good so you don't care. this was a mixture of jay trying to show he's still in touch with what's going on in the game today and satisfying the powers that be....and still being hova. it doesn't mean it's going to be a classic...it just means...well...it means at the end of the day hov' is still 43. most 43 year old men, regardless of status or income bracket still want to show that they still got it someway somehow. his age isn't all it boils down to, but human nature and psyche is still going to have an effect on an artist playing/performing at this level. as a jay-z fan i'm happy to get some new tracks....it's no reasonable doubt or blueprint but i've grabbed a few good quotables and gems from it for 2013...and a jigga fan loves their jigga quotables regardless. i could have easily picked it apart and found everything wrong with it (like the fact Holy Gr'ail would've sounded 1,000,000 x's better with John Legend singing on the intro) but hov' is my GOAT. i rock with him. people that want to be critics will be exactly that, but people that enjoy the entire character and story he's created over the years will accept this as his current soundtrack to the hova saga and treasure the ride he takes you on. it's still a piece of the legacy, although shrouded in media hype and corporate influence, it's just the stage we get to watch him play on. and i'm cool with that.

Funny thing is,..
The mike will made it snippet is going to become like the one hard snippet song on bp.
Then be remixed and added to.
Totally, removing itself from the original record.
So, more jay rehashes, his past moments of album more.
that completely fall flat trying to mirror or recapture past feats.
If jay really had the skillsets to be a dope as the emcees he bit and kept company on his own.
We really could have been witnessing greatness at every stage.
Just like all the other real goat candidates skillwise still do like, krs, rakim, g rap and LL.
Right now,...It is complete obvious those four are light years better than jay.
As well as his other active contemporaries,...
Who were ignored or forgotten about.
Whether from jay being an exec at defjam.
Or just the industry getting exposed and being ignorant and money hungry to change with the technological times.
I can name hordes of jay's contemporaries who still spit above high levels rhyming.
Whereas jay, is spitting at inferior outdated levels just like entire new Gen of offkey wack rappers.
