Really? I feel like with Sherman you can simply put your 3rd wideout on him and avoid throwing to his side. With Revis he will try to take away your beard player. Can't really avoid that

Peyton and Brady always did. :manny: The good QB's simply identified were Revis was then ate with their #2 and #3's. See AFC Championship 2010. Maybe it was more Rex being inflexible.

And Seattle's receivers are probably the worst in the league outside of Oaklands.

Sherman has way better ball skills. And yes, interceptions matter when evaluating the position.
Hell fukking no, if that's the case Patrick Peterson is the best corner, he gets beat all the time but he gets interceptions at a higher clip and rate than Revis does and so did D'angelo Hall, Asante Samuel, Charles Woodson and NONE of these muthafukkas was ever a better cover corner than Revis man, quit with all that, like I said Sherman have a better defense around him and its not even close. ..Revis can line up anywhere...I seen dude play Calvin Johnson on a 2nd down and Golden Tate on a 3rd down, Revis have way more versatility, inside/outside, want to see the quickest 3 and out? test Revis 3 plays in a row, just because James Harden gets more steals than LeBron does that make him a better on ball defender than LeBron?

I think you're crazy if you dont think Sherman has the skillset to play anywhere. The Pats moved Browner on the CFL kid Sunday night.

I posted this in the Pats offseason thread but its relevant here...

All watching Revis did was remind me why Sherman is not the best in the game. If you only play one side, they can move the guy they want where they want to not have you matched up with him, especially if your the Pats with all that movement pre-snap and motion.

Look at Brady's targets for this game, and lets take all the RB's and TE's out of the equations to focus only on Wideouts who Sherman could cover:

Brady threw to them 26 times, for 18 catches, 186 Yards and 3 TD's.

He only threw 'at' Sherman 'once'....but when we throws 26 TIMES TO 3 DIFFERENT RECEIVERS and Sherman is only there for one of them????......how can he be the best???? He's simply 'over there' so just move the guys you want to throw to away from him.

How you can let a team throw 50 times on you and eat your secondary for lunch and you didn't stop their best Wideout, their second best wideout, or their third best wideout???

If he moved around the field, and was as good as he says he is, he would have shadowed Edlemen all game and his stats wouldn't have been 9 catches for 100 + yards and a TD.

Peyton Manning used to do the same to the Jets while Revis was on the team. Brady too. Good QB's with decent enough receivers can take any corner out of the game. The Pats just had a perfect gameplan. If Sherman followed Edelman around all game Amendola and Gronk would have had more catches.

I would correct this slightly. If Sherman shadowed Edlemen all night, that wouldnt have affected their coverage of Gronk at all. What it would have done was forced Brady to throw to his second and 3rd option at least 10 more times in the game, which would be Amendola and Lafell. It would have forced the Pats to rely on Amendola and made him beat them. I would say that would have given the Seahawks an advantage and a better chance of winning the game.

Revis used to follow Reggie Wayne everywhere and take him OUT of the game, who was they best receiver, it was up to them other teammates and Cromartie to play better, if they did they'd win

That's on Carroll and Quinn then. Sherman's more than capable of handling Edelman imo. Anyways, the Seahawks pretty much had the worst choke in sports history. If they run the ball no ones second guessing what they did with Sherman.

You could say the same for the Seahawks during the Super Bowl. Sherman played well...his other secondary mates didnt.

As far as Wayne goes...I think the Jets would have been better served lining Revis up against everyone...Peyton/Brady types dont need their #1 option to dominate.

You right about Sherman he played great...but he got to expand his game. ..Revis is more complete

Seattle's had the best D in the league the last two years...I'm sure if the pass defenses struggles like it did in the SB next season, you'll see Sherman doing different things. There just wasn't any reason to at this point.

Sherman has trouble with smaller receivers. There's a reason he doesn't move into the slot. He doesn't play anywhere, so why go hard as if he does?
