the original wolfpack was Nash, Hall, and Syxx, thats a 100% fact. Hogan got syxx fired and hall and nash used the name for the face stable so they could get more merchandise money because bischoff was stealing their ideas for merch money...

im talking about the red-n-black when they broke off from the nwo.

I still believe that the Starcade finish and the FPOD were good booking in and of themselves, but everything else afterward was terrible.

That easily could've gotten the fans back on Goldberg's side and given him a fresh new challenge to run through. The entire purpose of reforming the NWO should have been to make Goldberg look like a monster. Even though people had seen him destroy the roster having him go up against a super group week in and week out would have given it a new spin. Having him start a feud with Bam Bam Bigelow of all people was just garbage booking, it literally made zero sense other than to cool Goldberg off.

I also think Nash should have been the one to go over in the FPOD match. The guy was the biggest face in the company at the time, and they threw away all of that momentum for a forgettable Hoegan run. Nash as the face of the NWO and being Goldberg's primary antagonist would have been good TV.

Nash was over and super hot in 98 but the idea that he was drawing more than Goldberg? BEFORE the title loss and fingerpoke? no way

and to the OP, if nash won on the screwjob, kept the belt, and they rebuilt the nWo WITHOUT the fingerpoke of doom, it works. There's a nashtale out there that the idea was to constantly screw goldberg so he's chasing the belt again as the nWo passes it around, which WOULD HAVE DRAWN MONEY

the timelines don't match though, and whether that was truly anybody's idea but Nash's, i don't know.
That's exactly how I would have booked it.

So the people that thought Nash ending the Streak was a horrible idea, how would you of booked it? The only other guy I could see ending the Streak was DDP.

classic moment.

classic pop.

the same people who are against it in hindsight, are the same people that would say he was over-pushed if his streak continued.

1.) this wasnt the '80s.
2.) it wasnt the wwf or wwf crowds
3.) wcw had the goat roster. it wasnt possible to feed the roster to anybody.

when people say dumb shyt like this i swear i wanna slap em lol. no disrespect but come on how much worth are you going to put into a POP.

you wanna know who popped? the fans of kevin nash and the smarks in the crowd that wanted to see goldberg lose. you wanna who didn't pop? the overwhelming majority of the paying audience that wanted to see goldberg dominate and retain the title. i mean shyt if you think kevin nash had more fans than goldberg in 1998 you are straight f'n delusional.

I have no problem with the stun gun tho, Goldberg still keeps his unbeatable aura because he wasn't beat clean.

but he isn't unbeatable then. now we know what it takes to beat him, a stun gun.

before that we didn't know WHAT it was going to take! we didn't know if he could be beat PERIOD!

On topic, they could have waited another year while having Goldberg only defend the belt 2-4 times a year and eventually put over a red hot Booker T or Steiner.

I don't think more people wanted to see Nash with the belt over Goldberg but a lot of people wanted to see the Streak end.

but i bet wayyy more people wanted to see it continue.

if goldberg goes into 1999 still undefeated and you keep putting him up against bigger and bigger opponents, he's a much bigger draw.

sting was still available. savage was still available. even a re-match with hogan could have drawn.

goldberg should have rightfully been given the 80's hogan push.

just feed him the entire damn roster. all the legends that were past their prime but still had big name value... hogan, savage, luger, sting etc... goldberg could have headlined ppv's with all those guys. they could have kept him busy all through 1999 just by having him beat solidified guys and getting him even more over.

goldberg didn't have to lose a match for like another 2 years.

No thanks, Goldberg was never a legend like that he's lucky he even got the push that he did which he didn't deserve.

how can you say he didn't deserve the push when the guy reached a level of popularity only maybe 5-6 guys in the history of the business have reached.
