I don't remember much of the show but that was a big moment for me. Gabrielle's demon daughter killed Xena's son and Ares was in the cut promoting fukkery to kill the friendship between the both of them which led to Xena going full 
on Gabrielle. Episode turns into a musical and they reconcile by the end of it.
