Why am I even going to waste another minute going back and forth with this guy? Should be easy and not requiring of much thought, though.What he actually said. "Religion is bullshyt" and "Reza Aslan is dumb poopy head" are not valid counterpoints to what he said.

Reza Aslan knows exponentially more about religion than you. That is a fact that's not debatable.
Yup. A religious scholar with a Ph.D in sociology and is extremely learned in the history of religion has literally zero value to bring to the table when discussing religion. But a fanatical atheist Tariq Nasheed nut-guzzler who posts all day on a hip-hop message board is an authority. Carry on.
Everything Maher said was correct.
Aslan isn't even qualified to talk about how Maher skipped over geopolitical infuences as opposed to Islam.

ASLAN: Well, he's correct in talking about militant Islam being a problem.
He is absolutely incorrect in talking about ISIS equaling Hamas. That's just ridiculous. No one takes him seriously when he says things like that. And, frankly, it's precisely why, under his leadership, Israel has become so incredibly isolated from the rest of the global community.
Those kinds of statements are illogical, they're irrational, they're so obviously propagandistic. In fact, he went so far as to then bring up the Nazis, which has become kind of a verbal tick for him whenever he brings up either Hamas or ISIS.
I've had the misfortunate of responding to a series of excruciatingly vapid posts from you, and still all I've got is...

yet when pressed he ignores the things that applied to muslim countries

2. he claims to be a scholar yet his latest book was AT BEST a radical interpretation on a figure in a religion he doesnt even follow.
And I speak KNOWLEDGABLY about what I defend. And this could be the train home for all I care. You'd still lose this argument.
He's evading the legit points the news anchors presented to him, nor did he challenge anything Maher said outside of "he's an atheist and he hurt my feelings."
He wants the world to stop looping muslim countries together while he keeps ignoring blatant lies about what present muslim countries and societies are doing.
He's an apologist...at best.

Yeah I follow Bill Maher's show and all but he has a huge blind spot when it comes to understanding Islam or brown people in general

His tactics rely on obfuscation and misdirecting.

Breh liberals in america are shaping and using american laws and traditions. You can't drop into the middle of saudi arabia and start yelling at saudis about gay marriage. You have to work from the society they have to go towards more progressive places. Different modes of activism don't reveal different intellectual stances.
