I think that first year in Shanahan's gimmick system set him back.

While he wasn't coming into the league strong in mechanics, he was also allowed to not have to work on his pro game even though he was a pro QB.

The worst thing that could happen to him did, he experienced immediate success based around a gimmick offense which stunted any growth he might have had. And on top of that, he became an owners pet, which is a bad move too.
In all fairness, it's not the NFL to teach RG3 how to play QB. NFL is a pro league. If RG3 can only run gimmicks and be successful then the coaching staff should run gimmicks with him. Period

No, if you draft a guy 2nd overall, it is your job to teach that player how to play in the NFL.

Everyone knows a college prospect isn't a finished product. When you tell a college player to keep playing like he's in college, he's gonna suffer because of it.

Qb position in particular is where teaching is still performed

Yea, everyone knows most of these college QB's aint running pro style offenses.

You can't possibly think you're drafting a finished product at QB.

However you can tell when a guy is a total lost cause fairly quickly imo...

Difference between Cutler and RG3 is so massive it's :mjlol: to compare them.
But from a very macro POV, Jay thinks he doesn't need to improve and thus doesn't give a fukk about listening. RG3 is still apt to listening and getting better he happens to have an asshat for a coach :yeshrug:

:dahell: He's one of the most disliked QBs here.

Only a few people really stick up for him. And most of the criticisms for him here are based on just media narratives and come from people who don't really watch him play.

You do notice it is only the Redskins fans who get this guys back.

He's an unlikeable person, bottom line.

On top of that, he ain't shyt.

They both have real loser mentalities, but i`d take Bob over Jay easily.

Cutler is the ultimate loser, Bob is on his way but he's still young enough for someone to get in his ear.

Greg Cosell is saying that RG3 needs to learn how to do basically everything to be an NFL QB and he didn't learn how to QB while at Baylor. Said he needs remedial training, can't drop back, lack of mechanics, etc. How did the scouts overlook this?

These scouts don't do shyt but look at highlights and dikksuck whoever the media tells them to. No other way you can explain the likes of Blaine Gabbert, Jake Locker, Christian Ponder, and EJ Manuel being first round QBs

They'res also criticism from people who've played the position and watched his tape but obviously random redskin fans on a message board know more then them :mjlol:
