fest has fooled y'all with this political bullshyt.

it is only, for another failed attempt at being alderman.

him and my dad's phoney card playing buddy are politically battling over.

don't believe this,....pr and propaganda for a governent check.

neither are going to use.

to really provide this area of the city, career based gainful employment.

nor will they, work to better the schools and programs.

violence on the streets exist because it is purposefully crippled by segregation.
which is an exact harmful well executed plan of genocide.

that both cochran and fest firmly subscribe to.

all in pursuit of a paycheck, and political visibility.

don't believe a word they say like any and every other politician.

it is all just capitalistic gamesmanship, via political posturing, performance and play acting.

don't believe a word that comes from out of their mouth.

don't believe any politicians words of falsehood.

they are all the devil and a the devil is a lie.

listen to rae's ibfcl ii and the words of papa wu,...as those words ring true, in this exact instance.

papa wu : return of the north star

'alway watch people who lie to you'
'watch the tricks baby!'
cause the trick is a lie and the liar is a thief!

it's called ENTERTAINMENT. anybody that is stupid enough to actually let entertainment direct their life is crazy. we all know that unfortunately some of the music that is out is based off of reality but people have to be aware of that. in other words, you can't be running around following music lyrics such as "smacking around people up" because there's consequences behind that. you have to use your head. as for the kids that listen to this music that may not understand and be misguided, it's up to the parents to teach them the reality of following the lyrics. it goes back to the parents not parenting their kids right or a community not raising a child. nowadays, people don't want to teach the kids anymore. they leave the kids to roam free and are even treating them like adults where they grow up f*cked up. you cannot blame the music for people making bad choices. it seems like nobody wants to take responsibility anymore for their kids. it's like back when you had all these group full of concerned parents that were blaming the music industry, the television stations and the whole nine basically telling them that they had to tone down their content basically admitting that they had no control over their kids and basically dishing their parential responsibilities onto tv, music execs.

honestly, i think rhymefest is jealous that some 16 year old is getting more love from the industry and rap listeners than what he ever received as long as he's been in the rap shyt. then again, that "brand new" record wasn't anything worth checking out or catchy at all.

:scusthov:

It's not entertainment bro...it's exploitation.

It's not entertainment bro...it's exploitation.

so when people write books, make movies and all that which are loosely based off real life situations, that's exploitation too?

once again, this wouldn't be happening if people learned to take responsibility. the black community is notorious for not wanting to take responsibility even when it's basically falls on them. everybody likes to blame. the government put the guns and crack in the community leaving us to kill each other. well, who said that people needed to pick up the guns and the crack in the first place? that's the problem. somebody has to own up. even if these rappers stop rapping about the violence, it's still going to continue. gangster rap started as a result of the violence in communities. NOT the other way around. when people chose to do something about it, then maybe gangster rap would die out but you guys are doing the same mistake such as blaming.

so, if there's a fire, you don't think throwing gasoline on it will only increase the intensity of the inferno??? people like you are excusing this anti-social/anti-black music, acting as if it's acceptable since the black community was already in disrepair before it arrived. that's bullshyt.

real street nikkas don't let rap dictate what they'll actually do in the streets,period..you might have a few random cases where somebody might blame rap for their actions (like that guy who shot a cop becuz he was listenin to pac), but overall, street nikkas see rap as a way to get money and get out of the hood

Chief Keef and GBE as a whole tend to disrespect other gangs/cliques in their songs, but that beef didn't start over music, thats some street shyt that was put on wax..so regardless if a song was made or not, nikkas was gonna beef anyway, which is my whole point..

I don't have a problem with chief.

I have a problem with radio djs and bias bloggers who shove the same 5-10 artist down the people's throat 24/7.

We need more variety that's all and more opportunities for up n coming cats with different sounds to have a chance.

Chief doesn't bother me but I already feel like we have a waka flocka we don't need another one.

The industry loves to ride the wave of whatever's hot and so do its fans.

Well I agree with u... But I DO want Keef to fail. I want as many non talented bullshyt artists to fail until the industry finds away to diversify top to bottom

i wanna hunnid and fitty thousand!
chief keef is poison

which I agree with
now keep in mind, I dont mind ignorant rappers. waka flocka, plies, gucci, OJ juiceman, etc
but this chief keef is on a next level. I like that song "I dont like"

but his other songs?

his interviews?

his overall image as a rapper?
keef and bricksquad speak on the same topics. the whole outrage is over how old he is, if he was 25 no one would have a problem.

This was the first paragraph. Did you even make it to the second sentence? :snoop:

It's through a metaphor, but Fest clearly states that Chief Keef is not to blame and is not responsible.

He explicitly states that labels and radio stations are to blame and are responsible.

He says that Chief Keef and others like him (i.e. other rappers) are usually blamed and this is wrong. Chief Keef is a patsy. Rappers are scapegoats. It's easy to look at someone like Chief Keef and say, "He's the problem. Look at his videos. Listen to his music. He's violent. There's no wonder there's so much violence in Chicago."

Fest says Chief Keef is "a tool used for collateral damage" and that he is a "spokesperson for the Prison Industrial Complex." Let's try to break this down because it is apparently not as obvious as some might think. Some prisons are privately-owned corporations. The sole goal of corporations is to make a profit--i.e. to make more money than they are spending. The profit potential of prisons is based on them having prisoners. More prisoners means more money. A huge source of prisoners comes from the neighborhoods that Chief Keef comes from. The music that Chief Keef makes is largely about destruction and negativity. It glorifies the same violence that results in people who look like Chief Keef and are from neighborhoods like Chicago being locked up and put in prison cells. The music that the Chief Keefs make serves as the motivation for people, particularly in violent inner cities, to continue what they've been doing, which in large urban cities like Chicago has meant indulging in all kinds of behavior that has been deemed violent and criminal.

Chief Keef is not to blame.

Others are to blame. Fest says labels and radio stations are to blame. I don't see what's wrong with him speaking on that.

There are other culprits, too. Who? Chief Keef's environment--the streets of Chicago--is to blame. Poverty is to blame. Corporations exploiting for financial profit is to blame. Politicians pandering to lobbyists is to blame. Capitalism is to blame. Just to name a few.

I don't see how anyone can read what Fest wrote and say it was unintelligent or. intellectually dishonest.[/QUOTE

I hear you breh....I just disagree with his point that hip hop motivates nikkas to kill each other or that's even a factor in the incarceration rate of black men which I think was his main point of contention..fest is Being short sighted by giving too much weight to. Hip hop artists on thier influence of young people ....if he really wanted to attack rap music and artists he should of went after somebody with more stature in the game than chief keef...that showed a little cowardice on his behalf..he needs too look at the big picture and realize that ain't no damn rapper corrupting these young nikkas minds man....when it comes to culprits for the prison industrial complex neither chief keef or any record label should be mentioned anywhere in that conversation

Rhymefest spoke the truth. The majority of critique for this message is due to folks taking the easy and cowardly route of dismissing, versus taking personal responsibility by being critical thinkers. To be a critical thinker, also exposes you to YOURSELF

He was not hating on Chief Keef, but putting perspective to his Keef's actions, that unfortunately is part of a cycle that many people are aware about, but are afraid to be viewed as not hip

You can listen to Keef, King Louie, Sasha Go Hard, all these Chicago "Drill Hop" rappers and comprehend how there can be 30+ shootings in one weekend within a 10 block area.... My problem is that we need to raise the critical thinking and intelligence level of the disenfranchised youth of Chicago's southside before worrying about "The Music" that is developed out of that community and then displayed back to them... The music is essentially a mirror for them to look at themselves in... You can't change the mirror from the glass... You need to change the object that is the source of the reflection... Because lets be real, If you don't raise the intelligence level and education of these individuals and remove the sociopathic behavior from their minds, Im sure they will find some other way to fukk their lives up even if the music didn't exist...

I mean LA gangs existed in the 70's and early 80's and nikkas was poplocking to electro dance music and funk and all that shyt before the late 80's wave of gangster rap... Doesn't fukking matter what the music content is.... Gangster rap just gave them a mirror to look at themselves and something to relate to...

I agree with what you are saying, but you are making the same mistake others are making in the past and presently, when you attempt to fix a problem in asynchronous fashion, versus synchronous. You cannot allow the negative message via the media to float about unchecked, while trying to change the minds and attitudes of folks

You control the media, you control how people think. You must tackle a problem directly, indirectly, and in a proactive way

So addressing the rappers, the music industry, then adding perspective with who benefits and who doesn't benefit from the results of those actions by the music industry and rappers, will only contribute to the ability to raise the intelligence level of folks. All of this, while you're striving for more resources for schools and programs that help build quality citizens

bruh, what you describe is a mentality that exist due to conditions, nothing else. It's not natural to you or me. Being able to make the "right" decisions begins with those things you said fukk to. These things allow our minds to reach beyond our conditions and add perspective and motivation in our life

Some of the replies in this thread are the exact reasoning: EXCUSES.

Excuses are made by us black people every day because we love that ignorance!

Lemme let some of you in on a lil known fact. When the U.S. goes to war, we don't do it just on the field...we do pyschological warfare too. We (well when I was in it) call it Psyops. Where we litter the opponents with brochures and other literature urging them to surrender, their leadership is evil, they can't win, etc. We set up sound systems blaring these messages also. We hijack their airwaves and put these messages on tv/radio.

This is stuff we've been doing since at least the Nam war. We are well versed in psychological warfare. We know that what the mind thinks, the body will follow. We know that if you tell someone something enough times...eventually they will believe it. All of this is old research.

If someone tells many of you straight males in here that you're a fakkit enough and constantly...LOL...before you know it you'll be gettin dikked or dikking another man LMAO!

All this shyt is fact.

I've personally witnessed the effect it can have on our enemy combatants. I've taken into custody the Republican Guard (who were supposed to be these battle tested and hardened soldiers who were going to merk us) and seen how defeated they were with minimum shelling.

Now making this relevant....I'm not saying there is some grand conspiracy because i'm not convinced there is. I believe it just happened as a result of money.

But our music, while it isn't the cause of our problems, it is definately an agitator and contributor! There's NO WAY AROUND IT! Anyone who denies this is just stupid as fukk.

We've made an environment that GLORIFIES ignorance and savagery. Just look through this thread and you'll see people who should know better even fighting for it! Making excuses for it!

We'll use the deflection of, "Well since white people buy most of this music...how come they aren't being affected by it?" Actually they are, just not on the level we are.

Take a look at your streets and you'll see plenty of wiggers who will get caught up in the same traps the young black males will too. Only they'll get to prison and realize they've been living a lie. But also, their foundations aren't as broken as the foundations of black americans. THAT'S why it can merely be a fad for the majority of them.

Once they finish their little gangsta phase, they can still go work for daddy's company and begin a life in the corporate world. We don't have that luxury, we don't go home to the burbs and rub elbows with our civilized and educated relatives and neighbors. We come home to the same savages depicted in our music so it's REAL to us.
