Did WCW really lose $60 million in one year in 2000?

I've been watching the Monday Night Wars on the Network, and they seem to bring up that talking point in at least every other episode. I really can't stand how they produced this show, and I legitimately have the :beli: look my face while watching it.

Yep, I could believe it... that's when he was about to clean Bischoff's pockets until they came to terms and he came back.

There was also a time before he made his WWF debut that he was looking to come there... when Turner purchased NWA and made it WCW in '88, and shyt started going haywire and everyone was leaving. He was basically helping to hold it together until that last fallout with Herd in '91, but he had been wanting to leave for almost two years prior.
help me recall / understand what was going on then. There was a time period where he was off tv and came back at the 4 horsemen reunion. There was some [what appeared to be] worked shoots between flair and bischoff that might've been more shoot than I realized [talking about I'll sue you, etc].

what was the deal

April '98 was when Flair and Bischoff had a falling out. The incident in particular was when Flair was taking a day to take Reid to a tournament he was in... they called him last minute and told him they needed him at Thunder. He said he wasn't switching plans now, it had been planned way ahead of them even doing Thunder, so he's not gonna make it. He and Bischoff had it out, Flair didn't come, Bischoff sued Flair for no-showing (punitive damages :mjlol:) and decided to keep him off TV to make his point, and also said things on and off camera about Flair. He all but fired Flair, but that was likely so he could just keep Flair under his thumb. Flair was ready to countersue and likely win... but they ended up agreeing to work together and Flair coming back. According to Flair, his lawyer advised him to stick to the lawsuit because he stood to make a nice chunk, but Flair missed wrestling so much, he just decided to do a deal and come back.

He and Bisch still didn't fukk with each other too heavy tho', which of course spilled over into their feud on TV
