He's really only played 10 full seasons. Now he's on a much better team and there are 17 games. He had 41 TDs in this, his first season in McVay's offense and having to deal with losing Robert Woods and building chemistry with Odell which coincided with a mid-season slump in his performance. He might have a better regular season next year and throw for more than 41.

Obviously the future is unknown, he might get injured, his play might fall off a cliff, but it wouldn't be that surprising if he stays healthy and his TD totals over the next 5 years goes something like 44, 38, 35, 32, 30 which would average 36 per year and still allow for a significant decline by the time he's 38.

It's not impossible, but this Rams team has a lot of question marks going forward. Whitworth retiring, Donald and McVay flirting with retirment, IF ODB comes back, two wrs coming off ACL injuries, no 1st round draft picks for the forseeable future etc. Personally I'm taking the under on him averaging 36TDs for the next 5 years, but we'll see what happens.

To be fair, Stafford has the numbers. He was on the trash ass Lions for his career. Had he been on the Rams from the start, his career might be perceived differently.

What hinders that argument is Burrow with the Bengals this season. Horrid franchise that succeeded

I don’t think he’s a HOF QB. However, I think it’s likely he gets in.

He’s the one QB that you always hear other players bring up when talking about top QB’s and QB’s with great physical tools outside of the top four in the NFL. Seems like his peers respect him a lot more than those not in the league.

You know what's crazy even taking the SB out of the picture. Matt Stafford as an older more experienced QB has strengthened his case imo. Like as more of a game manager his efficiency numbers have mitigated his earlier turnover issue. Long story short had Stafford spent his earlier career on a more stable franchise we are not even having this conversation.
