Big Ben was a much better playmaker and could put the team on his back vs much better comp than stafford ever had and has more accolades vs better comp. Once again, idk how y’all watch football and come up with this stuff.

If Ben is so great, why are his playoff numbers so trash? 36tds to 28ints. Career playoff passer rating of 86.7 (Staffords is 99.0). People kill Stafford for going one-and-done 3x with the Lions. Ben did that 6x with the Steelers with a HOF head coach, elite WR groups and some excellent defenses.

The only thing better about Ben is the franchise he was fortunate enough to get drafted by.

Stafford was a very good QB for a largely inept organization during what is statistically the greatest era of QB play we've ever seen.

Right now, no, he is not a hall of famer. Assuming he puts together 2-3 more years of upper-echelon play, and the Rams keep winning? He's going to Canton.

Stafford's biggest obstacle to the HOF is literally the team he was originally drafted by. Which ironically should help his cause.

If Stafford gets drafted by the Steelers, Chiefs, etc... he does enough to become a first-ballot HOFer.

who did Ben play in the playoffs during his career…? And who did he play play get there, Did you watch the nfl then or just start :mjlol:

matt stafford is the GOAT Garbage time QB and that’s it…I don’t even have to look up his numbers vs good teams because I saw this bum play like ass until his team was down 3 tds then would lit it up.

Going back 20 years, there are probably 4 HOF quarterbacks.

Brady, Peyton, Rodgers, and Brees.
(Favre, too. Though I'd consider him more of a 90s QB)

That's it. But I'm more conservative when it comes to HOF than most.
If you want to argue for Roethlisberger, fine. But the guy won 2 super bowls early in his career and did nothing for the last decade of it. He wasn't ever a transcendent QB. But fine. It's not a hill I'm willing to die on.

Matt Stafford has a career 86-95-1 record. He's won a championship, sure. But he doesn't stand out in a way that the HOF needs to include him to tell story of the NFL during the past decade. Nothing is lost if he isn't memorialized.
That’s my thing too. There haven’t been too many greats winning the super bowl outside of Brady for the past 10 years. This whole conversation is funny to me cause people got to change their arguments to make their points make sense lol. Hilarious

It's the Steelers. They've had almost as many Super Bowl appearances (8) as they have had losing seasons (9) since Chuck Noll took over in 1969.

An 8-8 record is as bad as it gets by their current standards. The argument can be made that the Steelers have underachieved, despite taking Ls to the Ravens, Pats, etc.

wouldn’t have done shyt with either of those teams. Would’ve been Trent green with a green light with chiefs and would’ve got mauled in the afc north with the Steelers.

The Browns and the Bengals were both garbage for pretty much all of Ben's career

The Vikings and the Bears is actually tougher comp than those two teams :skip:

Neither was Bryant Young. He was nice but was he legendary???
What? Bryant Young was one of the best D-linemen in the NFL and got pass pressure from the tackle position.

The HOF is not about being legendary, its about being an all time great. Young shoulda been in much earlier.

The first AFC team to win it as underdogs against Johnny Unitas.

You got to be legend to be in the HOF. You have to be an all time great you can’t have one without the other

Everybody ahead of Stafford in career passing yards and TD's is either already in the HOF , will be going to the HOF (Brady, Brees, Ben) or borderline (HOF) and he got a ring. He's going to the hall I don't know why people are really so up in arms over this

I feel like as a QB you need at least an MVP and a ring to go to the HOF right?

EDIT: Doesn't look like you need either. Just some really good numbers. Guy might have a shot. Matt Ryan about to get in too. :ohhh:

Troy Aikman is the only HOF QB from the modern era that never won MVP, OPOY or made an All-Pro. But he also won 3 rings

So pretty much based on current precedent, Stafford ain’t making it
