That nikka said no free jackets :russ::dead:

And jigger and the rest of these c00n rappers like :ahh: while Rick Owens publicly :pacspit: at them

High fashion designers give free clothing to Hollywood actors ALL THE TIME, because they want them to be seen in their clothes, but the c00ns in this thread will ignore that

If these rappers want to embarrass themselves to seem avant garde then let them do that. Question is...What high profile celebrities does Rick Owens deem acceptable to give free clothing to?
Also, why is that MC's in hiphop are cool with promoting other brands and not their own?

It's not public info who these designers gives their clothes to, but top stylists fit actors say they get bombarded with requests from fashion houses to wear their shyt, one can just assume most of the expensive clothing someone like :leostare: would wear is free

Rappers don't promote black brands because they so badly want to be apart of the white high fashion elite

Therein lies the problem. Not taking ownership of their own brands. Or creating them to better compete. Black entertainers don't know how much influence they have in the market. Many of them could easily create jobs for their own people if they wanted to. But we don't think that way.

Because these actors go to award shows and galas where they get asked what they're wearing, it's exposure.

Same thing happens to artists that go to the grammys.

Classic Niccas

this all goes back to the fact that the real niccas have blatantly been weeded out of the rap game.

this is one of the many reasons for that. its deeper than rap.

it's a million way street... and I don't think any of the top designers care one bit about rappers

understand they are top designers BEFORE rappers knew them. there were selling 3,000 t-shirts in the 80s. who do you think is REALLY buying these clothes??? 20-50 rappers who mention them or can afford to buy them.... or fortune 500 company ceo's with $50k paintings in the OFFICE

Wall street bankers laugh at rapper bank accounts.. movie stars would kill themselves if they woke up with rapper money.. we haven't gotten into the dudes getting 1.5 million dollar BONUSES at the end of the year.. or the guy who owns that company.. or overseas millionaires... royalty... oil families.. etc

you got one or two jackets and rapped a song that sold 1 million copies.. while most of your fanbase couldn't afford one pair of socks... yet you think some rich designer gives one fukk about you?? or learning about your life?? or hearing that song?? they gonna switch they whole musical taste to catch up on the latest rick ross news.. cause he rapped a bar??

y'all are delusional. kanye might be the top 5 most famous rappers right now.. they won't even sit down with him.. oprah and billionaire and they won't even let her shop after hours... they don't give a fukk about us.. not even a race thing.. I don't think they give a fukk about what brad pitt is doing either..

they have whole departments in multiple countries, that issue out free items to stars.. doesn't mean the designer is sitting in a meeting, picking and choosing who's hot in the world, in order to make the list up himself

EDIT: wasn't coming at you.. you pretty much saying the same thing.. I was just answering back on the clothes part... just cause you own Versace, doesn't mean you personally are sending the clothes to jay or brad pitt or anyone else.. that have PR depts who decide that type of shyt

I kinda disagree.
Disclaimer - I work in the industry (let's just say it's high street fashion) and my wife works at one of the so-called high fashion designer labels. And I have many acquaintances and connects.

A lot of these people love hiphop. I was at Alexander Wang's showroom this fall and they were playing nothing but rap. And all the buyers were in there bobbing and light dancing and shyt. Marc Jacobs loved Lil Kim, Dolce & Gabbana had a dumbass shirt that said HIP HOP on it like 10 years ago. They actually give a shyt contrary to what you think.

Maybe the highest upper uber echelon billionaires wouldn't know or care about hiphop but frankly, like 90% of high fashion labels are not thinking about them.
I have hedge fund friends and bankers - their style is so different and almost uniform so it's almost always Hermes, Zegna, Brunello Cucinelli, Loro Piana, and Kiton or any one of those bespoke cashmere houses. It's almost a different genre. And that's for peeps who care about what they wear. Most of them don't even care. It's frowned upon if you rock any labels with logos or anything extravagant. It's all about understatement in that world.
So high fashion designer labels can't rely on them. It's only these handful of old premium houses that can appeal to these people.

High fashion designers rely on "aspirational consumers", in other words, people who spend disproportionate amount of their disposable income on fashion, to survive. And best believe, they love and care about pop culture and hiphop. It's a vital part of their business and the PR decisions do come up to the top tier execs and C-suites.
