no, you definitely voted for trump.

You don't understand strategic voting. Of course entitled cacs like you think a vote for Gary Johnson was without consequence.
this is the second time in a week where you rehashed the exact statement that I MADE, and you tried to crucify me for it :dead:

"The Department of Energy (DOE) is a cabinet-level agency that has both important energy- and national security-related missions. DOE’s roots go all the way back to World War II and the Manhattan Project, the top-secret program that launched America’s effort to develop and stockpile nuclear weapons. DOE’s predecessor, the Atomic Energy Commission, managed the country’s nuclear weapons complex until the 1970s, when the Energy Department assumed that responsibility upon its creation. Today, Energy officials still oversee the laboratories that were once primarily responsible for creating weapons of mass destruction, along with implementing policies geared toward strengthening the United States’ sources of energy. The DOE carries out policies ranging from nuclear power to fossil fuels to alternative energy sources. Under the current administration of President Barack Obama, U.S. energy policy has focused primarily on “clean energy” initiatives and technologies, a departure from the policies of former President George W. Bush, whose DOE provided considerable support to nuclear power and oil development, which provoked criticism from environmentalists and those on the left."

AllGov - Departments

"But the primary function of the Department of Energy has nothing to do with green energy technologies. It’s one that, as Perry would have known if he’d fully understood it years ago, makes the DOE all but indispensable: maintaining America’s nuclear weapons stockpile. That’s where the vast majority of its money goes. During the Cold War as the United States entered its arms race against the Soviet Union, the DOE’s primary function was weapons research. It was the organization responsible for finding new technologies to get a leg up on the Russians. Its lineage can be traced back to the Manhattan Project and the creation of the very first nuclear bomb."

Rick Perry doesn't know any of that, and all you are doing in this thread is defending him.
:gucci: Who is defending??...Im saying he can be effective as long as he is willing to learn

Trump: Hey Governor, I want you to join our team as Secretary of Energy
Perry: *thinks, hmmmm....so I get to travel year round making oil deals on the side :ehh: :blessed:
Perry: Mr. President, I would be honored. We gotta become truly energy independent. I'll use my experience as Governor of......:jbhmm:

Perry: Texas, yeah that's it....Governor of Texas...we got lotta oil down here

Next Day -

Perry: Hey Roger (Chief of Staff) - we gotta put together a team. Trump wants me to head the Energy Department.

Chief of Staff Roger: That's great! I'll ask my brother Jim to come by to bring us up to speed.

Perry: Jimbo? What for? Ain't he military? Anyways, go ahead and call Rex and see if he can recommend some of his people

Later that Day

Chief of Staff Roger: I talked to Rex, he said he's pretty busy what with all the preparations for the confirmation. He said when they get settled in that we'll all need to meet to develop a cohesive plan to address the nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament issues that will probably come up between the President and Putin.

Perry: Disarm us with our nucular power? Don't the Russians nucular too?

Chief of Staff: Nuclear weapons.

Perry: :jbhmm: ....are we still talking about me being Secretary of Oil?

Chief of Staff: Governor....as head of the Energy Department we are going to be responsible for maintaining the the safety and integrity of our nuclear arsenal.

Perry: :dead:

well i'm glad that you're admitting that im not a trump supporter :ehh:

otherwise, your rationale is faulty
Not really. You cats don't get to parade behind the "anyone but Hillary" rhetoric, then shun the consequences of anyone but Hillary.

Like what :mindblown: :heh:

Remember Trump and Hillary are the same. They're just as corrupt and inept. So OBVIOUSLY Hillary would've nominated Rick Perry or someone as terrible to this position, no?

Man, I get that people can step into positions and be able to learn their way around and be successful. But this is like hiring someone who has never seen a car, to run GM. He literally does not know the fundamental purpose/motivation of the agency he is going to lead.

Right wingers justifying this is why, if it wasn't the case that so many vulnerable people are going to get hurt over the next couple of years, I would have enjoyed happily sitting back watching the people who put Trump into power be ground into dust (metaphorically speaking of course) by his policies.

I don't really know people on here beyond random posts so it's difficult to determine whether people are just trolling or if they actually believe some of the things they say. But if you are in the latter group, understand that all of these people he is putting into positions of power - with a few exceptions - are doing so with the clear intent of robbing this country blind. Perry thought he was going to help his oil buddies. Tom Price (Health/Human Services) has just admitted to getting stock tips and being able to purchase stock at preferential prices from companies that are in the health care industry. Mr. Tillerson w/ Exxon and Putin. DeVoss and her support of charter schools.

Kleptocracy in the making. I hate saying it but I'm going to take my tax cuts and ride this out, probably coming out way ahead personally - but this level of incompetence at the helm of so many agencies will never end well for the country at large.

precisely.

Ben Carson is smart enough to be a brain surgeon.

He's not a fukking engineer.

People keep thinking these are just transferrable skills. They're not.

:sas2:
The man ran the 2nd largest state in the union and he did invest in renewable energy under his tenure and turned texas into the leader in Wind power...hes obviously not an idiot and he knows a few things about how energy relates to economics

I suspect OP will be humbling himself when things dont go the way he predicts and all the cries of wolf will be replaced by an embarrassed silence.

until i bump this thread :smugbiden:

Thats why youre my favorite poster

After getting ripped to shreds for not remembering the name of the agency he wanted to abolish(Department of Energy) don't you think he would at some point figure out what they actually did or their name?

This is why we can't have nice things.

Will you be defending DeVos as well?

The kid has an advanced degree in flipping burgers and if Rick Perry can make it in the world Cac can too or so his thinking goes...

It's most amusing that their candidate "won" and they're still whining every god damned night. This is what your candidate and party wanted it's time to man up and own it.
