070 Shake was a victim of Kanye self-destructing

They moved him to Def Jam a while ago. Low key, him and Logic were keeping the lights on along with Jhene/Big Sean.

And they STILL fukked over Logic and treated him like he was a B/C tier artist when dude was lowkey moving units and being nominated for major awards. Thats why his Vinyl Days album was basically a “fukk You Def Jam” album and then he went and signed a massive deal as an independent artists

I don’t know how it works but I guess that UMG and the major labels been trying to streamline that shyt since forever.

They wouldn’t let a big name sign to Def Jam today, in the end is all the same shyt but which if their brands can service the artists demands and prospects the best?

It’s like a bank, they’ll have retail branch offices, retail corporate branches, regional, global, private banking, different types of private banking and on and on. And if they buy a regional bank with some big customers they might move them to the global investment banking division. That doesn’t mean that the regional shyt they just bought is failing. At the end of the day, the bottom line is consolidated to a single number.
