Management deals are the wave now. These young niggs are realizing they can run it up without the major label shenanigans.

Case in point Veeze. He had prolly the hottest rap song of the summer "not a fire drill" on his very own. When the labels saw what his Ganger tape did without them came crawling to his feet. Warner Bros gave him a master p/birdman type partnership deal. MILLIONS

See the thing is if u prove u can collect a hefty bag without major labels they'll come crawling for business. Because they know you and them together can guarantee millions

Trust I did, but after a while looking back at my resume...good grief most of the companies I worked for went out of business :picard:. And it sucks that the job market is so ass backwards with not accepting that businesses come and go, they continue to ask for references.

Like :why: aight let me look up my old boss that probably dead or moved on with their life, because the damn job requires of it.
Why not provide a fake? Presume you at a different level where they may be more thorough with checking

I try to tell artists this. If you can build backing on your own you have leverage in a deal. Just gotta grind man, all of em be wanting shyt handed

:francis: And somehow Butcher The 3rd thought it was a genius idea of signing to the label.

My Pops Forever RIP
they should have been able to make more of 070 shake
070 Shake was a victim of Kanye self-destructing
Justin Bieber is on Def Jam?! Why I’m just now finding out about this :dahell:
They moved him to Def Jam a while ago. Low key, him and Logic were keeping the lights on along with Jhene/Big Sean.

It's true.

You go up there now, and you'll be lucky to see anyone there that's been there longer than a year. Barely any black or brown faces anymore. It's flooded with interns and "creative directors" who all look like hipster baristas from Starbucks. Most of which don’t know a thing about the company's history or its legends.

I'll never forget when they wouldn't let Redman in because they didn't know who he was, and then when they finally found out, they made him wear a visitor's pass. The label has been dead forever.

That alone would make me never sign a deal with Def Jam no matter the offer :picard:

It looks like the damn CMA Awards up there now.

These dudes actually called security on Redman and asked for the police to come too because they didn't know he was an artist there. Ghostface said he would have issues getting in too. It's crazy.
