He seems like quite a intelligent person so i course someone like him isn't going to like it over some young dumb people who love listening to fairy tales and made up cartoon characters bumping their head to the beat.

"Yo this shyt bangs"
The shyt does bang mufukka. Its music. That's what music supposed to do. And giving this square corny ass dude a voice on hip hop is ridiculous.

this has nothing to do with that shyt, mastermind is a bad album (quality wise) from a critical point of view.

everything about this album is bad...

What in the hell is "quality wise" and from a "critical point view"

You thought you were going to throw outside bullshyt ass buzzwords and not get called on it?

Do black people even review hip hop anymore?:patrice: Or have we strictly delegated that role to outsiders? :pachaha:
Why would a music reviewer even have an audience?

What someone else thinks of the music has no bearing on how much you enjoy the music

didn't listen to the album but the stuff he's criticizing it for kinda sounds like Action Bronson's Rare Chandeliers (over the top imagery of luxury crime tales and comedy) which he actually reviewed and seemed to have liked.

Except Bronson is way more creative and the audience is 100% clued in to the comedy.

Funny thing is, if he had said the album was dope, people would be like "cacs only give it props to music that hurts the culture:skip:"

Some people like the album, some people don't. And this guy said the same stuff that the people who dislike it have already said.

-Same ole Ross, nothing different from what he's already done, and that his formula gets repetitive.
-Production is hit or miss; just OK.
-Good features, but that's about it.

But since he's a white guy, his opinion doesn't matter :stopitslime:

Dude could've had a better review, but his others are fine, so it isn't a matter of him being "part of the culture" or not

Why does anyone review Rick Ross albums because we know what we're going to get. His next career should be a screenwriter. He looks like he sits in his study and think of the most gangsta shyt to say. :russ:

So basically this was an attempt to validate a negative view of the album. If someone doesn't like the album, they don't need to validate that opinion. It's not going to change anything except the minds of people who can't form an opinion on their own.

I hate these kinds of reviews. Its just pretentious snobbery and even if he dislikes it he could elaborate, instead of acting like a fat pansy.

Honestly, I think this might be Ross weakest album, but I could take the time to build an argument unlike this corndog.

This album was boring. Its like he ran out of tricks.

Deeper Than Rap was a major step forward with the production. Mafia Music, In Cold Blood and Valley of Death showed a lot of people that Ross could really rap. The album basically sounded like nothing else at the time

Telfon Don was slimmer and had the slick Justice League production, and also was one of the first to showcase the Lex Luger sound. It had BIG records like Live Fast, Tears of Joy, BMF. He got personal on a few and had interesting collabos with Badu, Saadiq, Drake etc etc

GFID was inconsistent and bloated unlike TD, but had anthems like 3 Kings, Sixteen, Diced Pineapples, Ten Jesus Pieces. Again, he took chances with the guests and you can tell he was really trying to make something special with that album

Mastermind is kinda flat....nothing new production-wise, aside from Jeezy...no special collabos aside from tacking himself onto a Weeknd record, subject matter is LESS creative than ever. I honestly dont know what he was thinking
