i didnt peep the review but i expected him to either love it or completely hate it. i think he liked one of the earlier tapes so it makes sense he'd not like this.

I thought he was a C.O. in a prison on a majority Black county in Southern Florida...Isn't that what he always gets clowned for? Who's closer to the criminal element than a C.O.? He knows the "enviornment" better than 90% of any rapper yall ride for..This is like the theory of Nas writing from his project window on steroids..Ross is the David Simon of hip hop..

The Passage of Time
I wish all these he was a or could have been a dirty C.O. or got his story from the criminal element from those incarcerated. The simple fact of the matter is this, William Roberts was introduce to the world as a rapper by the name of Willow, not drug tales, no murder tales ect.. and this is well into the Gangsta Rap era. He was ghost writing and doing duets with Trina and slip and slide before Hustling. So lets stop with all this dumb ignorant shyt and stick to what we know. He was a C.O. that quit and became a rapper, it ain't hard to deal with facts.

Rick Ross, tells tales of a drug dealer life style, that is only reserved for a few and those guys don't rap about it, they just count paper. So for anyone and I mean all you lying as nikkas talking about you can relate but the reviewer can't stop your fukking lying. A street level dealer has to hustle hard just to pay the nikka he working for and he is around the product everyday and can't relate to the life style tales Rick Ross talks about.

the "hipster ass cacs" are the ones who are buying this music. I dont know why you think its only "real nikkas" that are listening to this type of music.

Its unfortunate that black folks flock to this foolery.

the fact u think his albums is solely about being a kingpin proves what we saying
Ross basically giving sentiments any nikka who grew up in the enviroment that Ross is targeting can feel
The struggles he brings up
The thoughts and aspirations he portrays
The hint of spirituality that can be found in most street nikkaz
Maan u just dnt get it
This fantanto kat is just not the type ofkat this music is for
He is a surburban hipster ass cac who has no experience in this culture outside of the music so there is nothing he can say bout our music
Its really that simple

They absolutely can

I'll always listen to what a white guy has to say about Eminem, Macklemore, Milkbone, Action Bronson and Teri B

:skip:
Yep. The vast majority of whites i've talked to either hate rap, don't think it's music, don't listen to it, or only listen to eminem and caclemore. But that still doesn't discredit a white guy who loves the genre and knows his stuff from critically reviewing an album.

Thing is, plenty of people "in" the culture say the same thing that jilla82 said, and plenty of people outside of the culture who may still understand it the way you do. Cats are acting like the only people who love it are in the culture, and the only people who hate it "don't get it" because they aren't in the culture. It's not that simple. Some people like it, some people don't.

I'm actually enjoying Mastermind as I type and Fantano is by far my fav online music critic.

jusy heard the skype line. so dudes in prison can skype now? is that what he said? he skype with his boy in prison and counts money for him to get him hype?

lol

and Puff Daddy is particularity vile with his little put on anger piece on the the remake of "you're nobody till somebody kills you'

it's moments like those two that underline how utterly stupid rap can be.

The problem with this album is there is a HUGE lack of standout tracks. All the songs are grooves which is ok but only ok, your never gonna make a classic with straight grooves unless theyre really fukking good. And the singles suck, the two issues go hand in hand.

I mentioned this exact point in what I just posted..My opinion isn't worthless.. But it's WORTH-LESS then a 65 year old Italian guy that was in the enviornment from which these screenwriters create a "good" mob film.. I'm not gonna be so arrogant that I'm gonna pretend I know more than he does..

Thats what these hipster reviewers do...I also honestly think music is so nuanced that you can't just be a general music reviewer (pop, metal, country, hip hop) You have to have specific experitize in a certain genre and a resume on how that expertize was formed..

It reminds me of these AM sports talk show hosts are jack of all trades but masters of none.. How you gonna be an expert on football, basketball, hockey, nascar, boxing AND soccer? Fukk outta here
:pachaha: Thats how I view these "general music reviewers"...If I want to know about boxing then I go to Max Kellerman, if I wanna know MMA, I'll check Joe Rogan, if its basketball I'll look for Chad Lowe, if its hockey then I'll search out Barry Melrose...

You just can't say "I know sports" or " I know music" because chances are you are just a casual observer and are only scratching the surface...
