But The Roots picnic was sold out. If there was 30K there on Saturday for Lauryn, there was 40K Sunday for Usher.

Would be interesting to see how many tickets get sold when Live Nation is backing the concert versus when they are not.....If Ross/TI was with Live Nation would the concert sell more?

no. TI has toured well but Ross isn't a big artist, he got like one platinum plaque and that took over a decade and streams to hustlin for him to get. He basically red cafe level,

I ain't even from NY, but anyone who was around 01-03 knows 50 was on fire before he signed.

Why you think Em and Dre gave him a million dollar deal?

There's a difference between being on fire and what he did once he got a machine behind him. Nobody's saying he wasn't, but the post I responded to insinuated that 50 was capable of selling out arenas before the Shady/Aftermath deal.

Lol 😆 then why can't they fill an arena?

They don't exactly share the same audience. They have songs together, but none of them really were that big of a deal except "9 Piece". T.I. would have a better chance of selling out an arena by himself. Clearly, he's the bigger crossover draw. Rick Ross never had that. Until Port of Miami went platinum a few years ago, he never had a platinum album. T.I. has like five of them by himself. T.I. could easily do a set of hit songs where its just him on both the bars and the hooks. Most Rick Ross songs have someone else on the hook.

You're saying people in Cali don't listen to country music? Or did I read that wrong? Just tryinta get clarity....
In San Diego? Nah...that's not a hot spit for country music...now she crossed over and became bigger than that type of category but LA and San Diego aren't doing country music festivals..any of that kind of shyt....they are more geared towards comic conventions and the like.

40+ year olds aren't trying to be in a huge crowd with Black Genocide Music blasting. :scust:
This true as fukk. I’m 32 and im not even trying to be in any venue where it could be anything close to a hood element at this point in my life. You go to a Nas concert and you know it’s a mature crowd who really just there for the music. The fact that this applies to 50 cent and the Wu as well shows quality music is timeless and will draw in a better crowd. Im from the south too

it's really only most of southern rap acts from the early-mid 2000s that didn't go international.

Game was pretty big in Europe before his fanbase dwindled.

East Coast rappers too, outside of 50, Nicki, and Cardi, and maybe Meek. Most post 2000 rappers don't have much traction internationally
