Was he ever the 'hot' thing ? He has average buzz but he's never sold more than 200k first week has he? 'hot' in hip hop would mean he had reached Jay, Drake, Wayne, 50 level of love when they were popping. Maybe he'd even make it to platinum once or twice. As it stands Tony Yayo has sold almost as many records as Rick Ross. Faboulous, Cam Ron have even sold more. If he was the 'hot' thing his shyt would sell. It doesn't.
