There’s an old New York City nightclub called Bentley’s which was the last upscale Black club in Midtown Manhattan.

Every single night, without fail, the last song they played to signify that the club was closing was Frankie Beverly’s “Before I Let Go.”

I’m still hardwired to think of club is about to close whenever they played that song
